Wake the Dreamer is a game about exploration and discovery with a heavy influence on choices and outcomes. You, the player, are tasked with creating a character that lives inside of your phone. After which, it's up to you to help your character improve his life. The game runs in real time, and so as the player you are living your life along side your character. But strange things are beginning to happen. While your character is asleep, you're free to explore his dream world. When he's awake, you're able to explore the city, buy items to customize your character while being free to go wherever you want to go, find side quests, hidden locations, or choose to ignore them and complete only the main story.
Day/Night Cycle: Since the game runs in real time, it's only fitting to have a day/night cycle! What this means is that NPC's (Non Player Characters) will have schedules. You may find certain characters only appear at locations certain times of the day, so keep a look out!
Combat: Combat is a mix of action and platforming. Depending on the items equipped, your attacks can vary. There is also a way to switch your weapon loadout with the press of a button, that way players can cycle between ranged and melee weapons on the fly.
Choices and Consequences: Experience real consequences to your choices. We're putting a heavy emphasis on the many possible outcomes that may arise due to the choices players make. This can range from side quests, to the main story (leading to one of several endings), to the romance options. The way that you interact with your character will determine the experience that he has.
Romance Options: We are including, as of now, a couple of different romance options. These are meant to enhance the story and emotions that players get from playing the game.
Exploration: Players are free to explore two worlds; The real world and the dream world. The choices that players make in one world will impact the other, allowing for a cohesive and interactive experience. There are also a lot of areas that are not listed on the map. In order to find these locations, players must explore and discover them for themselves.
So, why Kickstarter?
With the money that we earn from Kickstarter, we will be able to hire a software developer to work full time on this project. In addition, $10,000 from kickstarter will be going towards paying our lead concept artist to also allow full time work on the game. By working full time, we'll be able to create the game we've always wanted to play.It will also allow us to release the game for both iOS and Android devices, reaching as many people as we possibly can.

Ali Sakhapour: Project Lead for Wake the Dreamer. Graduate of Art Center College of Design, majoring in Illustration, Ali has always had a passion for storytelling. It wasn't until he was first introduced to video games that he became obsessed with the notion of interactive storytelling, allowing players to be active participants in the story.Although this is the first game put on kickstarter, Ali has another title that is nearing completion that he has worked on for several years with Fredson Laguna.
Vincent Tang: Lead Background artist and Animator.
Wes Howlett: Lead Sound Developer and Musician.Wes has always had a passion for music and storytelling. While going to school to study literature, Wes has dedicated the majority of his life to the development of his musical talents. With his musical talent, Wes has brought new life to our games!

Adrian Monroy: Lead Script and Story writer. Since elementary school, Adrian has always found that the best way to show what really went on inside himself, from the pitted steppes of misery and up to the bright and burning fields of favor, was to put your heart on trial of the paper, and allow the pen to be your gavel.
Sam Peterson: Lead Concept Artist. Sam has a strong passion for visualizing worlds and the characters and creatures that inhabit them.

Risks and challenges
We understand that investing in a new project is always a risk. However, we are committed to doing our very best as we strive to create a game that is meaningful to both the players, and the team as well. We're currently in talks with investors to help fund us the remainder of the money needed to further the scope of the game. With both the investors and kickstarters help, we will be able to create the game that we've initially set out to make.
For the reason that we can't control the distribution with Apple and Android, if we get funded we will be releasing the entire game for FREE on both iOS and Android for a short period of time. This will allow all backers the opportunity to get the game for their device without having to pay again. We are also in the process of making a demo, which will be handed out to backers once it is complete!
The money will be used to hire software developers and help us stay afloat, allowing us to work full time on this project. We are nearing the release of our first game for mobile devices, and are hoping that we will be able to continue to develop and create games that we truly believe to be unique and engrossing. And, of course, we want this game to be something that you the players are deeply involved in. That's why during the entire development period for the game, we will be updating frequently to show off the new features we will be adding. We will also be listening intently to your questions and concerns about the game, as we do our best to make sure you all are involved in the development process.
