When we first started the Old Dirty Brasstards experiment three years ago, we never dreamed we'd be in a position to make an album. But the gigs got better and better, and you kept turning up, buying tickets, screaming 'ONE MORE SONG' at Glastonbury, Latitude, and Bestival; in London, Birmingham, Leeds and beyond. It's been an absolute joy for us (and for you, we hope), and now we want to give you a slice of the Brasstards pie to enjoy in your own home.
We've picked the tracks that we think you've enjoyed the most, and which stretch us technically and musically, too. But please tell us in your pledge comments if there's anything you'd specifically like to see in the mix.
With your help, we hope to be in the studio very soon, creating something that isn't a standard brass recording. It's important to us - we want to push the boundaries of what brass music sounds and feels like, and with your kind and generous donations we'll be able to cover the costs of studio time, production, mixing, artwork, distribution and all the other elements that go into making a proper record.
We want you to be involved as much as possible - without the brilliant crowds we've had at every single gig, Old Dirty Brasstards just wouldn't exist. Thank you so much for your support.
Let's get dirty!
Risks and challenges
As we're doing our own take on other people's music, we've always been conscious of the legalities - permissions are fully taken care of. We're not a small group of people, and we all have busy schedules as musicians, but we are absolutely committed to making this happen.
We're very lucky to be recording with an excellent producer, and we're calling in favours from talented friends in terms of the album artwork. We've taken every step we can to plan this to perfection, and as our backers, we'll be communicating our progress with you every step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
