A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
What are V Nives?
V Nives represents the “Something Different” you have been looking for in the knife design industry. This brand will create an environment that can bridge the gap between the artist and knife enthusiast to deliver a more authentic overall experience. V Nives strives to bring cutting edge designs to the world from both masterful and upcoming designers that are otherwise not as readily available in a corporate setting.
The founder, Mike Vellekamp, possesses 25 years of experience and has a large range of designs available from knife manufacturers you already know, such as:
Yet another impact he has made in the knife world can be seen in his representation in the passing of the Washington State legislature bill ESHB 2347. This bill allowed the use of spring blade knives to become legal under certain permissions of agencies and companies.
V Nives are the real deal. When you back us, you don't just back the highest level of quality knives, but are also backing an artist-driven knife manufacturer that is truly dedicated to the craft. With 25 years of commitment and hard work under his belt, Mike Vellekamp has executed a wide array of spectacular designs and manufactured countless rock-solid knives. He has traveled the world striving to find the absolute best materials to build his knives! The V Nives brand is an expression of his passion and fire that forges every one of his knives that will soon be available to (and because of!) you.
Once the components are received here in the U.S., the knife will then take shape and become the tool you will come to count on for the highest quality at the best price. Below is a more specific chart regarding the origin of knife materials and location of creation & assembly:
V Nives will be collectible from Day One. We understand that a knife can be as unique as the person that owns it.
