About this project
Update # 4
For the $20 pledge we will make the film available as soon as it is ready through a private link online, cause why wait right?
Tell us about your project
This campaign is raising funds for a short film titled Bent is a depiction of the future as a result of the putrid ways of our present. The film is an symbolic visual piece set in a post apocalyptic world where it's inhabitants have begun to backtrack in the steps of evolution returning to monkey like creatures fending for themselves and living with fear, hunger and greed.
Bent is a short story that contextualizes a symbolic state of the world led to by the current situation and society we live in. But Bent isn't your regular post apocalyptic kind of film. We aren't trying to create a story that is overpowered by technological advancements or your cliches of the typical futuristic films. Bent is a film that seeks to make a statement on the current state of humanity and how it affects our future. In this film you will find a world in which the loss of love and apathy has pushed our society to regress mentally, physically and beyond.
WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?
Your backing will help us realize our vision. This is a film we have heaps of faith in and we know with the push we need from the funds we will be able to bring forth a film we can all be proud of.
The funds will be put towards:
- Paying and feeding our hard working cast & crew
- Renting equipment
- Costume Design
- Building two sets (1 tunnel, 2 cells)
- Transportation of equipment and material
- Graphic Visuals Effects (very important because the story is driven by visuals)
- Music/Sound Design
- Prosthetics/ Make-up
- Festival submissions
set designs for the tunnel (more sketches to come)
Our hope for Bent
We want to make a film that does not lose the force behind making a statement surrealistically and visually, grasping the audience in a different manner, that is the brilliance behind Metropolis. Buñuel's films also come to mind: Los Olvidados, Simón del desierto, El ángel exterminador.
We are going to make sure this film is seen and understood, submitting it to the biggest domestic and abroad festivals. We want this film to move people, to create an impression in people and ultimately change something in them.
What to do?
This is a film we all feel is important and very current. We would love for you to pledge to our campaign, go ahead and take a look at our rewards! But if you cannot help us financially please share the campaign on your social media, with your friends and family, with your doctor, with the bodega owner, your dry cleaners, a barista, your neighbor, an acquaintance, your girlfriend or your boyfriend!
Thank you so much for taking the time in giving us some of your time! We're super excited and we hope you are too!

Risks and challenges
We have already faced many challenges trying to lift this project off the ground since February of 2013 but our love and firm believe in this story has helped us overcome them all to finally be here presenting it to all of you. We know this is just the beginning of our challenges but that's why we love doing what we do. As of now our biggest challenge is raising the funds to be able to shoot and express this story on the big screen. Your help will allow us to bring you a film that is crisp, current, affecting, shocking, visually striking, brunt, jolting and pounding (i used a thesaurus).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
