Fringe Festival, CD, and Gifts

Posted by Joséphine A. Garibaldi and Paul Zmolek (Creator)

Unfortunately two of our performers dropped out of the production and, given the complexity of Double Blind Sided, the available talent pool in Pocatello, and the limited amount of time, we have had to withdraw from participation in the Santa Cruz Fringe Festival.  This, of course, deeply saddens us as the work that you helped bring into fruition deserved to receive a larger audience.

Robert Fruehwald is at work on a recording of his music for Double Blind Sided as a suite.  CDs will be available for purchase fairly soon.

The Thank You gifts are (finally) ready to be sent out.  If you elected to receive one please send us your mailing address so we may send them to you.

Thanks, Paul and Joséphine

Live Web-cast dates/times

Posted by Joséphine A. Garibaldi and Paul Zmolek (Creator)

We have had our first rehearsals in the theater with the musicians and set lighting last night.  Dress rehearsals Monday and Tuesday with our premiere on Wednesday.

We have confirmed the dates for our live web-casts: Thursday, May 22 @ 7:30 PM (Mountain Time) and Saturday, May 25 @ 2:00 PM (Mountain Time).  The Thursday night post-show curtain talk with the creative team, including composer Robert Fruehwald from Missouri and librettist G.B. Waldschmidt from Indiana, will be web-cast as well.  There is a possibility that we will be able to also have an on-demand option so that both web-casts will be available after the event is finished.   As soon as the URL for the web-cast is assigned we will send it out to you.

Again, thanks for your support for this exciting project,
Paul & Jo

Double Blind Sided Fringe Festival dates

Posted by Joséphine A. Garibaldi and Paul Zmolek (Creator)

We have just received our official letter of invitation to the Santa Cruz Fringe Festival.  We will be performing at the 418 Project, July 17 & 18 @ 8:30PM, July 19 @ 7:30 PM, July 20 at 5 PM & 10 PM.

We are in the process of arranging travel and housing for our nine performers for the Santa Cruz Fringe Festival.  If anyone has a suggestion for cheap housing in the area from July 16-21 or knows of someone with a house/condo in the area who would loves the arts and would be willing to donate/rent for cheap, please drop us a line.

Rehearsals are going great and we are looking forward to the Pocatello premiere May 22-25.  We will be live webcasting at least one performance and will let you know as soon as the schedule is finalized.

Again, thanks so much for your support.

Double Blind Sided at the Santa Cruz Fringe Festival

Posted by Joséphine A. Garibaldi and Paul Zmolek (Creator)

We are very happy to announce that Double Blind Sided, the contemporary opera inspired by Kafka’s The Trial and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, has been included in the international roster for the July 2013 Santa Cruz Fringe Festival. DBS will premiere May 22-25 in Pocatello, Idaho. We will hopefully be able to produce a live web-cast of one of the performances.
