We are Eyes on Main Street, a Photography Festival in Wilson, NC, USA. Our 5th edition will open on April 27 and run until August 4, 2019. Our main exhibit showcases the work of 100 photographers, with an equal number of men and women in Historic Downtown Wilson, North Carolina. Spread over 8 blocks, the photos bring large scale art to breathe life into our community. Photographers from around the world share their passion by creating a large scale open air art gallery.
Can we revitalize our Downtown by way of Photography? This is what we have been trying to do for the last 5 years and with your support, that is what we would like to do in 2020.
Each year we create new photography programs. For example, in 2016 underprivileged kids participating in our Youth Photography Project saw their photographs exhibited next to the images of William Klein or Mary Ellen Mark.
In 2017, we launched our residency program. Since September 2017, one or two photographers live in Historic Downtown Wilson for one month each to record the daily life of our community.
In Wilson, photography and art are the glue that joins us together. Eyes on Main Street has the unique power to bring our many communities closer. It plays a vital role in the social interaction and integration of our city.
This campaign, with your support, will give us a chance to give back even more to our community. We thank you for your dedication and support.
