DVD arrived and we really enjoyed it - I was not acquainted with Moms and the circumstances in which she came to prominence. What a wicked wit and a savvy, brave person! Thank you - I am glad to have been a backer of this project (even if my name did not make it into the kickstarter credits at the end :).

Got the survey for the DVD (Blu-ray would be nice :) a couple of days ago - Almost one year earlier than forecast (assuming receiving the survey means it will be shipped soon)! I am looking forward to receiving it as I could not see it when HBO aired it.

You can access the airing schedule on the hbo website:
(hover the mouse over the Schedule button in the bottom-right corner - select 'All showings' to see them all). It will be available On Demand as of Feb 1 and is available on HBO Go (not sure what this is) now..

Hey Whoopie -- Ain't it grand? Congratulations! I don't have HBO...however I am looking forward to seeing the film at some time. Will it be on Netflix? When?

    4. Kelly Howard on

Like Daniel and Skye I haven't received my signed art either.

    5. Skye on

I am in the same situation as Daniel. I hope that I, too, have not missed out on my signed cover art.

    6. Daniel Theodore

I was assuming that this was taking time so I didn't think to follow up until now, but I never received the "Signed "I Got Somethin' To Tell You" Cover Art". Hope it isn't too late.

I think attaching Whoopi's name to the title is a Great Idea...

Jim - thanks. Arsenio knows Whoopi paid with her own money (and with the help of Kickstarter). We never forget Kickstarter and all of you great folks who helped make this happen. The folks that paid for a contributed and wanted the private screening tickets will see this next month with Whoopi. The premiere already happened at the Tribeca Film Festival and there will be another for HBO when they release this. Thanks for your email.

5/29/2013 Arsenio was just on the View with Whoopi. He said she made this film with her own money and he helped by providing his home for some of the production. I had hoped she would correct him about it being all her own money, but she could have just forgot.
Maybe she will invite us to the premier.

Just got my autograph picture in the mail. I'm new to kickstarter and this was the quickest turn around I have seen so far. Months before the est. delivery. Thanks!

Thanks Whoppi! I look forward to the note. Smiley face emoticon. Just to let you know the name I submited is my real name and not a joke name. I have to say this all the time. Sad face emoticon.

Just filled out the info for the rewards. There was not a section to include that I'd upped my donation to include the DVD as well. Is that just a given if someone pledged at least $35 more than their chosen pledge package?

This seems to be a perfect match - whoopi and moms.
whoopi - I posted on your facebook page that can't no one ever say anything bad about you in my presence. And I think I've only heard one thing you've said that I disagree with (cannot remember what it was...).
I look forward to seeing this documentary. I remember seeing Moms on the Ed Sullivan show and I had a sense of her importance. I look forward to hearing more about her.

Happy funding day! Living as I do at the bottom of the world, I was new to Moms Mabley. However, through this wonderful labour of love, laughter and respect, you have widened her audience on a huge level. I have been watching and listening to as much of Moms as I am able to, and I have laughed to the point of tears and hiccups. She is an absolute gem, and I'm so glad that she is going to be celebrated in this way! Thank you for introducing Moms to me, and for giving me the opportunity to help make it happen. Love to you. xo

I'm so glad this was funded. When I was little me grandmother used to say a Moms Mabely joke about old men. I can't recall the joke but it always brought a huge smile to her face. I look forward to the finished project. Great job Whoopi!
