eVubble is simple. All you have to do is pop smaller bubbles and avoid larger ones. You can unlock different skins for your "character" by completing various achievements. The video above demonstrates the gameplay that we have implemented. Ideas for what we want to add next are plentiful. Things to look out for in later versions include various power-ups, "power-downs", different game modes, alternative control schemes and maybe even Green Throttle and/or Ouya incorporation. We want our backers to voice their suggestions so that we can include as many as possible!OUR GOAL
This version of eVubble, called eVubble Lite, will be the first release of what we anticipate and hope to be many. Our goal for eVubble is to provide an experience for people that allows them to join in on our creativity by providing feedback online. At the very least we want downloaders to know that their comments, feedback and ideas are helpful and appreciated (Even if they end up being horrible and we wouldn't be able sleep at night if we implemented them).
Many mobile games are made by large teams of professional developers, artists, sound producers and musicians. We are just a small team of two for now. Expect eVubble Lite to be a bit rough around the edges at first, but still lots of fun! AND we will be offering eVubble Lite for FREE on Google Play. Does the idea of a lite version make you think of missing features, annoying ads and intrusive in-app purchases? Well think again! This isn't your traditional lite version; eVubble Lite is a heavyweight. Most lite versions are watered down full versions. Ours is simply the full, first release and will have none of the aforementioned horrors.
YOUR VOICE WILL BE HEARD!
Would you love game makers to actually take your suggestions into consideration? You are going to get eVubble in an early enough stage to enjoy this benefit. With as new and small as we are, we have no choice to listen to you guys because we want to learn all we can about the market!
As mentioned, eVubble Lite will be free. Thus, funding will be used to cover subscription fees for the software development kits, additional software and test devices. We've put a lot of time and effort into this project and we're broke college kids. Acquiring funding for an initially free project would be more than awesome. Later versions of eVubble with more features will be paid.
iOS Release ($2500) - We will make bringing eVubble to iOS devices (iPhones, iPods and iPads) a top priority. We can’t promise a specific release date because the approval process timeline for iOS is generally much slower than for Android. And we're a little less familiar. The extra money will allow us to pay for iOS-specific fees though, and this will speed up development for these devices.
GreenThrottle ($3000) - We will start developing added GreenThrottle support for the Android version. Again, we won’t know a specific target date for release on this platform, but the extra funding will allow for starting development.
Ouya ($4000) - We'll place Ouya on the development roadmap. We'd love to bring our game to Kickstarter's favorite game console!
Risks and challenges
Making mobile games is tricky while juggling schoolwork. We are aiming for an Android release of mid-summer. iOS and other platform releases are reach goals and would obviously happen later.
We believe we are equipped to deliver eVubble Lite in this time frame. We made significant progress over our spring break as you can read about here:
And we've done much more since then. Essentially, all the main features and gameplay shown are complete. The month during which this Kickstarter is running will give us more time for testing, polishing and any "last-minute" improvements. In fact, IF everything goes smoothly, there is a good chance we'll even be ahead of schedule.
On top of that good news, we have even planned out how to implement many of the new features that will be added to paid eVubble versions after the release of eVubble Lite.
