Update #35 - International Shipping Payments

Hi Backers!

For all of you around the globe that are eager to get your hands on the Instacube, please hang in there! If you are among the first group of backers to receive their Instacubes, you've already received, or will soon receive, a private email with a link for the shipping charges. Many of you have already taken the steps to process the shipping charges and we appreciate your prompt action!

We have begun to process those payments and you will see a confirmation from the system when your credit card has been charged. You will then receive a personal email with a tracking number when your product is leaving the shipping department.

If you have not yet received a private email with a payment link it is because your Instacube is in an upcoming shipment batch. We are building inventory as quickly as possible and will notify you as soon as we release to additional countries.

Thanks again to all backers!

I haven't received any emails, nor do you respond to my messages. I spent $800 on a retail pack, what a joke.. For a company claiming to be engineering specialists and actually charging other companies for this service, this is so far beyond a disaster it's not funny..

    2. Tulakarn on May 2, 2014

I'm one of first 1,000 backers, so I would expect to received email in first batch, but I didn't received yet. I did checked the junk / spam folder everyday, it's not there.
May you share us the progress, such as how many cube had been delivered, how many is in fulfillment location ?

      Please please please.

Hello I haven't received my Instacube or an email with tracking info. Where is my Instacube?!?

    4. Maxence Leret d'Aubigny on May 2, 2014

Hi guys! That's a great news. I did not receive any email since this update. Any clue for French bakers? Many thanks.

I haven't receive my email to check address???? Where am I? To ship

    6. freshphoto on April 30, 2014

Ok ... just a little update about the process:

      - First of all I received a mail confirming my email address (as they had 2) and my shipping addresses. I replied to confirm everything.
      - 4 days later I received a email with a link to pay the extra shipping costs.
      - I paid the 20$ flat fee per Instacube (possible via credit card) - received an instant email that it might take up to 60 days for the shipping (was already shocked)
      - But: Just a few hours later I got a confirmation that my Instacubes are shipped and received a DHL tracking number (already working in the DHL system)
      - The Instacubes are shipping from HongKong ... so a bit unfair to charge extra in Australia when the US gets it for free.

I am a fairly new Instagram user ... just started recently ... haha Looking forward to the finished product

Before asking for a refund I would rather get the item and sell it on ebay ... I bet this would be faster.

    7. freshphoto on April 29, 2014

Got the email for my 2 Instacubes ... 2x20$ for shipping to Australia :-(

Was surprised to see today a newspaper ad for the Instacube ... sold at the Good Guys for 179 AUD (around 165 USD):

      Also available here

My local store has it even in stock ... so I will be able to test it as 40 USD shipping is a lot - esp. as it looks like that the unit is in Australia already available.

I am not sure if I see this positive or negative.

Positive ... the unit is out there in the wild and gets sold - in the end you need to make a profit with such a project. And as some people ask for refunds there should be some processed as units et sold right now (hopefully ... haven't heard about any ... as units are sold tight now you should stick to your promises).

Negative: I didn't see a communication about this ... and it feels like the unit did not start shipping to US backers. So people paid already by backing the project and need to wait even longer than people who just walk in the store and purchase it. We all know there will be money constraints ... but a open communication helps a lot ... :-)

Have received my two units. Well, what can I say. I want a refund too. The touch screen in not very responsive and the interface is very slow and clunky. Had high hopes given the delay. But have been disappointed.

    10. Bill Spencer on April 27, 2014

Are the classics going to ship for U.S. backers anytime soon?

    11. Steve Black Jr. on April 21, 2014

@Michael - I've had a Beta unit since November and it works great! I use it on my desk at work! If you have questions about it, my Twitter handle is @draggingalake. I've answered a handful of people's questions in the past about the software updates and bug fixes since that time. My only complaint was the screen was a bit dimmer than I wanted, but D2M did say that there is a new, better screen in the official unit. :D

    12. Paul Wienholtz on April 21, 2014

Same here, I want a refund too.

    13. Ivan on April 18, 2014

I would like a refund as well. How do we go about doing that?

    14. Ed N on April 17, 2014

I certainly hope that there is a more organized way of issuing refunds that can be tracked and verified. Replying to comments in this blog making empty promises is not reassuring. You can't pick and choose as to what is more convenient for you to delay making good on either promise at this point. Send me what I paid for as an original backer and we can end this absurd miscommunication dance.

    17. Sungmoon Cho on April 16, 2014

I am no longer interested either. It's been so long.. and I am not using instagram any more. I ordered two, and want a refund.

I'm an international backer and I want a refund. Here's why:

      a) I don't use Instagram anymore.
      b) I change my address. TWICE.
      c) I have to pay a mortgage now, so I don't have enough money around to pay shipping and customs charges for a product that don't have any relevance after all this time.
      d) I invested in something that I don't believe anymore and I don't agree with the way you handled this.
      e) Well, it's my right.

Please, I want a refund and I need to know all about this issue. I don't even use the same credit card anymore!

    21. Alexander Joy Carteright I'VE on April 16, 2014 is expecting two of these. Any way of notifying us when they ship? Alex

    22. Beagle on April 16, 2014

@Michael Baran - I agree with you completely. It does seem off that they're now not being done in order but by where they can get the most money first.

    23. Beagle on April 16, 2014

Refund information please. Why go through this entire process when some of us aren't going to commit?

    24. Michael Baran on April 16, 2014

Does it concern anyone else that D2M is looking to fulfill international orders first? Not because of the fact that it's an international order… but because international orders are requiring supplemental payment.

Everything about this campaign just feels off.

Proof is in the lack of communication and justification for course of actions.

    25. Luis Cunha on April 16, 2014

I'm not interest in this very late product and don't want to pay more in shipping and customs charges. I've asked for a refund but haven't received any reply. Am I in the refund queue?

    26. Oscar Setiawan on April 15, 2014
