Instacube is now in production! Yes, we can finally say it IS happening.

 For you, our Backers, we recognize this has been a long and arduous waiting period. In this, we really DO feel your pain. To bring you up-to-date we are going to take a very Instacube approach and share a very visual story. Just a few highlights in the making of Instacube are represented.

 Plenty of testing goes into readying the product before packaging.

 The final steps in the factory include packaging in our sustainably-designed, eco-friendly retail packaging.

 You can see the manufacturing process takes many people and many hours, but we are moving along. There is still QA to complete and shipping details to finalize. To reiterate the previous update, our production runs will be staged. This means that we will be building Instacube in batches, and backers will receive them as devices become available. You can see from the photos included we're producing both Classic and White Instacubes in this run. Other styles will follow as we ramp up production. We are scaling our production to fulfill units to each and every backer as quickly as possible. When the first palette is released and shipping we will post a brief message with the date, but we anticipate this departure to remain on the current schedule. That means devices should be heading to you within the next 10 days.

"Later this week" has come and gone without any contact. This feels all too familiar. Get your shit together.

      Also, It's been too long since I backed this, I have no idea if it's a good address. I backed this back in's now 2014 and 13 months past your original delivery date for March 2013.

      Wow. I guess I'm happy that you somehow got investors to bail you out so I'm at least getting the unit (over a year late) for my money. And whenever anyone sees it on my desk, I can give them a lecture on the importance of ethics and transparent communications in business, and in particular in crowdsourcing. D2M has pretty much destroyed its credibility and its business. Not by underestimating the project and missing deadlines - lots of projects do that. But most Kickstarters, when they understimate the project, admit their mistakes to their investors, buckle down and work through it. Instead, you guys behaved arrogantly, insultingly and unethically. For example, paying yourselves salary out of the money that should have been paying for manufacturing, while lying to us. And then by refusing to give refunds due to your failure to deliver. I can only hope that since your web site hasn't been updated since June 2012, when this project flamed out, that means that your business evaporated. Then at least the cube will have collectible value.

      I've never asked for a refund from any Kickstarter project, including one that delivered more than 1 year late. This project is *quite* a different animal, for reasons that don't need rehashing. I'm happy for the folks that will be getting their Instacube. I, however, am interested in the refund option that was promised by the project creators. Kickstarter agrees that refunds are perfectly acceptable: Not thrilled that D2M replied in this comment stream about address updates and ignored, again, the promise made that refunds will be offered when units are ready to ship.

      Any investor has the option to back out if it's going pear-shaped. We were promised refunds if we wanted. So far be it from us 'crying' and not understanding about kick starter, ALL we are asking for is that this promise is backed up. If you 'experts' in investment want to continue with your investment, fair enough - we're not slagging you off - so why do many of you feel the need to be so superior in your tone? THAT behaviour is not helping anyone, least of all kickstarter.

      Last year we were instructed to email with the information below. They responded same-day letting me know my shipping address had been updated. I can't say the process is the same today, but it worked for me back in June 2013.

      Yes! So I might see my instacubes in a month... Albeit I asked for one black and one white. I, Iike many others, still use Instagram and I understood what crowd funding actually meant. This was never a retail store so it was going to be a different waiting game... Hopefully I'll be able to post about how happy I am with this product soon.

      And how do we now apply for the refund? Particularly for those of us who ordered black and white. I doubt you're going to grace us with the courtesy of sending out one colour first and another later. You're just so lacking in detail in any of your posts it's unreal.

      Instacube is a stark reminder how fast lived our time is. After all these trials and tribulations its a technology and service that's just not relevant anymore to the majority of users. It's like getting your DVD player when there's blu-ray and digital downloads.
