THE PROJECT We are opening a new type of Market. From sourcing to production, from layout to labels, from shopping to checkout, we have reconsidered what a market can be. As with Local Mission Eatery and Local's Corner, Local Mission Market is driven by three values: 1) Local, 2) Handmade, and 3) Transparent. This is unique and a challenge for a restaurant. This is totally new for a Market.
THE VALUES + ONE 1) Every fruit, vegetable, meat, poultry, fish, egg, grain, dairy, cheese, oil, vinegar, wine, beer, and more will come from Central and Northern California (coffee, tea, and chocolate will be from local purveyors). 2) We will make everything from scratch--pasta, pickle, bread jam, condiment, cured meat, sausage, smoked fish, candy, spice rub, dried fruit, and more and more. 3) We will make it all at Local Mission Market. 4) We are designing systems to make this the smoothest grocery shopping in San Francisco.
ALL THAT AND CONVENIENT? Yes.
HOW? Our complete inventory--from produce to prepared food--will be available online for pick-up. Yes, everything. Seriously. And Members will also be able to get home delivery. We are building an in-store iPad app to pre-weigh your produce and bulk bins, so that you have printed bar codes for speedy checkout. We will have mobile scanners, so there will be short lines. And more.

Risks and challenges
We are well into construction (space updates soon). We are opening this summer. We have a great team. Yet to make your Market just right--the systems and design and tiny details--we need your help.
Our risks and challenges are in the operation and execution of a new concept. We will have a large staff. We will be open twelve hours a day, seven days a week. We will source directly from farmers and ranchers, cheesemakers and winemakers. Great products from great people are priced accordingly.
With the experience of our two restaurants, the phenomenal staff who will transfer to the Market, and the unique products that will procure and produce, we will build a viable business.
