The Hunting of the Snark is a short film narrated by Sir Christopher Lee and adapted from the Lewis Carroll story of the same name. The film follows a bizarre crew on their dangerous quest to find a mysterious creature called a “Snark." In this seventeen minute adventure the crew sails the high seas, explores dark forests, and encounters vicious creatures.
The visual effects for the film are already well underway, but in order to get them finished we need your help to bring on a small team of professional visual effects artists. These artists will help to simulate vast computer generated oceans and make our creatures look as real as possible. In addition to helping with the visual effects, funding you provide will also be used to complete the sound and color correction for the movie.
With your help this Lewis Carroll classic will get the big screen adaptation it deserves! You can find more information about the film at www.thesnarkhunt.com

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Creating high quality visual effects is always a challenge and a risk even for the biggest Hollywood films. So creating visual effects for an independent film is even more of a challenge. As with any film project, there is always a risk the film will not get finished. Since the film has already been shot and edited and the visual effects are underway, I feel confident that the film will be finished. This is my fourth short film and I have never left one unfinished and don't intend to start now. Another risk for this project is that the visual effects will not be completed at the level of quality that the audience expects. In order to make sure that the visual effects are done correctly I will use the funding raised through this campaign to hire very experienced visual effects artists who have a track record of turning out stunning visual effects. With experienced artists, I think that this film will be able to achieve a level of quality that everyone is happy with. A final risk is that the film will take longer than expected to complete. This film has already taken me longer to complete than I expected and there is a chance that the visual effects will take longer to finish than I have predicted. Since the visual effects for the film have already been started, I think that I have a good idea of how much work is left to do and how much time it will take - but surprises and the unexpected do have a way of popping up in visual effects. By bringing on experienced artists, this risk should be minimized. With your help, I think these challenges are all surmountable. Thanks!
