The temple of Luxor is brimming with treasure, but is full of danger as well! To succeed, the parties of adventurers will need to be more equipped than ever.
The Mummy's Curse
The Mummy's Curse is a modular expansion that contains four different expansion modules that can be played in any combination (base game of Luxor required). It also adds the necessary pieces to play with five players. The modules will give players special powers, unique starting hands, and new ways to collect sets of treasures. Most importantly, it adds a cursed mummy that players must avoid, or suffer the consequences.
The four modules:
- The Mummy
- New Treasures
- Special Adventurers
More information on each module can be found below.
We are offering special pricing on two bundles as well.
Here are more details on each of the expansion modules:
No temple would be complete without a cursed mummy. She is not amused that you have invaded her final resting place, and will stop at nothing to get rid of those pesky adventurers.
The Mummy standee will start the game in the antechamber with the sarcophagi. Each time an Osiris card is played (Osiris cards are upgraded cards that players can obtain on certain tiles), she will be moved forward a number of tiles equal to the eyes on the cards (1-3). Any adventurer she passes through or lands on will fall into a cursed slumber and be laid on their side. Players will have to spend an activation to wake up their slumbering adventurers.
For every adventurer put to sleep in this manner, the controlling player receives a Talisman which can be spent to but Mummy tiles from a market. These tiles provide powerful special actions.
Note: Players may pass through the Mummy on their own movement with no penalty.
More danger requires more preparation. You're going to need to enter the temple with some extra equipment if you want to succeed.
Each player will start the game with 5 of 7 new special starting cards. This starting hand can be chosen by players or randomly, according to preference. The new starting cards are special variations of the normal starting cards, and will allow players to chain their starting moves together for a quick start. Once played, the equipment cards are discarded as normal and will be shuffled into the deck.
There are more riches to be found inside the temple! A 4th treasure, the Mummy's staff, is added to the game.
At the start of the game, the first ten spaces without a special symbol will receive a stack of two treasures. When the first treasure tile is taken, the second one is revealed instead of an empty space. Players are still awarded points for sets of three treasures during end game scoring, as in the base game. However, staffs will be worth bonus points for every set collected that has three treasures and no wild scrolls.
Each player starts the game with one of eight special powers, each of which alter the game in different ways.
Powers include being able to re-roll your die rolls, using keys to change values on played cards, or getting an extra turn for collecting pure sets of treasures.
With 8 powers to choose from, this module adds a great deal of variability in each gameplay.
Always wanted to explore the temple with 5 players? Now is your chance with the 5th player expansion, which includes all pieces needed (including equipment cards) for a 5th player.
The game is best experienced with 5 players if you play with the equipment and new treasures modules.
Luxor - Forgotten Treasures (Information on the base game)
Designed by Rüdiger Dorn (Istanbul, Goa, Las Vegas) is a family game for 2-4 players ages 8 and up and takes about 15 minutes per player. It was noimated for the prestigious Spiel des Jahres award in 2018.
On the hunt for fame and priceless treasures, groups of adventurers explore the legendary temple at Luxor. Their ultimate goal is the tomb of the pharaoh, but many treasures can be found as they search.
The gameplay of Luxor revolves around an innovative hand management concept, where players on their turn move their adventurers by playing either the leftmost or rightmost card in their hand.
After their turn, the player draws a new card which is placed in the middle of the four remaining cards.
Players will move their adventurers through the temple collecting treasures and trying to be the first to make it to center central chamber to find the sarcophagi.

We know about the Kickstarter challenges, such as coordination of production from multiple manufacturers, delays with production and shipping, challenges with shipping around the world and missing or lost packages.
Also, despite sending the rewards at the same time, backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards sooner than others because of logistics of international shipping.
By pledging to this project, you acknowledge that the name, final look and materials of the project and hence the rewards, are subject to change and may differ from what is presented while the Kickstarter campaign was active.
If you do not accept these terms, please do not pledge on this project but instead wait for the general release.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
