Redefining Smart Device Screen Protection
We are in love with our Smart phones and tablets, but it is inevitable to drop them a few times, especially when you have kids or dogs. The last thing we want to see is our precious device being damaged, or in the worst case scenario the screen cracks.
Protecting mobile devices have been a big challenge. There are many great cases that already tackle some of the problems with outstanding solutions. We have seen some protection at insane levels, i.e. cases that enable smart devices to survive when a car runs over it. However, there are very few products that attempt to protect the most vulnerable part of the phone, its screen. Therefore we were determined to design and engineer a screen protector that will be resistant to impacts. After a year of relentless research and development, the end product is Rhino Shield.
What is Rhino Shield?
Rhino Shield is a patent pending and custom formulated polymer created by our team. This polymer offers extraordinary impact absorption and excellent transparency. Rhino Shield is designed to be used in conjunction with any smart device case, or on its own.
Rhino Shield is not only thin and transparent, but silky smooth as well!
Impact Resistant: Our specially designed shock-absorption layer can oppose many types of impacts. Any scenario that you may encounter in your everyday lives.
Scratch Resistant: Our scratch resistant nanometer coating technology also provides superior scratch protection for your screen.
Thin and Highly Transparent: Only 0.029 cm in thickness, which makes it very case-friendly. (thickness of typical screen protector, ranges from 0.015 to 0.020 cm)
Anti Fingerprint Smudge: Our oleophobic coating technology keep's Rhino Shield resistant from annoying fingerprint smudges and makes it very easy to clean.

"Do you know phones these days are using Gorilla Glass and they are like amazing?"
I have received at least a dozen questions like this since we launched, so I decided to explain a bit more about Gorilla Glass. Gorilla Glass is certainly strong, but it does BREAK!
Even the latest Gorilla Glass 3 is not shatter proof. In this demonstration they use 115g of ball bearing (which is less than half of the weight used in our video). The glass would definitely shatter if they did not use a slope. Additionally having a frame can dissipate impact energy as well.
We are proud of our R&D capability
We set off to make the best screen protector. Throughout our year long development phase, we designed and engineered everything (our own test rig, measuring device) from scratch. Our journey so far has provided us with a valuable and fundamentally important understanding of the physics behind impact. We are dedicated to put as much of our science and engineering skills as possible into the art of thin film making.
Maximizing our Rhino Shield impact absorption capability and transparency; while minimizing its thickness simultaneously was incredibly challenging. However, we have a great team consisting of a number of graduates from top universities in the UK and a very capable manufacturing partner in Taiwan. With all our expertise in science and manufacturing process, Evolutive Labs is continuously working on optimizing Rhino Shield, in order to design the best screen protector for you.
We believe we have solved the most difficult part, which is to make a thin and transparent film which also provides impact resistance function. Risks and challenges
Like other Kickstarter projects, we face numbers of risks and challenges. (The biggest challenge for us would be speaking in front of a camera…:P)
Our major challenges include:
We have tried our best to minimize the risk for our kickstarter backers. With several successful pilot production trials, we are very very confident to deliver the product in the final mass production run on time. with extra funding, we will also push hard to try to deliver Rhino Shield ahead of schedule.
Consistently delivering the best quality Rhino Shield is obviously the key part in this project, and we take a very serious attitude towards looking at this matter. We have been working with our manufacturing partner for months to test the quality of Rhino Shield. In our QC test, we will randomly choose every 1 out of 30 Rhino Shield in the production line we make, examining its 1) impact resistance. 2) Transparency 3) adhesion. If it fails any 1 item in the criteria, we will stop the production line immediately and go back to trace the problem. We have a strong team to ensure that we can deliver our promise.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, We care about our co-funding customers (backers).
