About this project
This November, we will be recording our new album in Lisbon, Portugal - where most of the band lives - and we need your help! The album will comprise of twelve of our best new songs! We are fortunate enough to have the incredibly talented Tadklimp flying down from Berlin to produce the album. He has previously produced albums by Berlin-based bands Fenster, Saroos, Slow Steve and Jason&Theodor.
We really appreciate and welcome your financial support for what we promise will be a beautiful new album. The funding will go towards the recording, mixing and mastering of the album, for renting equipment for the studio, for album design, and printing of CDs and vinyl editions.
This new album begins with the frenetically affirmative Rag and Bone, drawing inspiration from the Irish poet W.B. Yeats. The second track is the melancholic and melodic Collapsing Star written by our dear friend Michael Hall who passed away in 2013. Giulia Gallina takes leads vocals for the third track, Gypsy Waltz, which embraces witchlike ways of an autumnal night; while the fourth and fifth tracks, Loyal to the Killer and Nightsongs, are penetrating songs about the allure and mystery of love. Side one closes with Outro Lado, which means the "other side" in Portuguese, a song that tries to catch a glimpse of a life after death.
Side two begins with the upbeat and danceable Gates of Gloom, quickly followed by Caitlin Maude, which is an ode to the enchanting and feisty Irish language poet and activist from Connemara. Crossing Roads celebrates the journeys, transformations and inspiration from friendship, while Soul is a catchy ditty dealing with eternal recurrence and the void. These are followed by the heartfelt and desolate God's Spies, which takes its title from King Lear’s farewell speech to his daughter Cordelia. The album closes with the enigmatic Javali which combines the yin and yang of the Loafing Heroes - that of fading away and renewal.
The album tracklist is:

Risks and challenges
Our recording sessions are already scheduled for 1-15 November, a short space of time within which the entire band and the producer can be in the same location.
Besides the relatively brief recording period, the other challenge we currently face is deciding how to release the album once it has been mastered. Our two main options are 1) releasing it under the FNAC Portugal label, as we did with our previous album, or 2) finding an international label to help us reach a wider audience. Either way, our goal is to have the album in stores by April 2016.
A large part of the money raised will be used immediately to pay for production, mixing and mastering; the remaining funds will cover any additional expenses related to album cover design, packaging, printing, marketing, and distribution.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
