Over seventy years after Hiroshima was flattened by an atomic bomb, and 6 years since the nuclear disaster at Fukishima, Japan has reactivated their military and continues to use atomic energy. Join Peaceafists Megan AH, Dr Joesph Limoli Deyama and award winning documentary film maker Nash Ang for an intimate interview with Koko Tanimoto Kondo, an advocate for world peace and the youngest survivor of the Hiroshima bomb. Koko was only 9 months old when the blast flattened her home and her mother pulled her from the rubble to just in time to escape the fire that consumed the city. Although she survived the bomb, Koko’s growth was stunted and she was rendered sterile. Unable to have children of her own, Koko has dedicated her life to promoting world peace and works with Japanese orphans. How do we fight war and nuclear proliferation? “Peace in your heart,” Koko says. In a world with a militarized Japan and a volatile President behind America’s massive nuclear arsenal, the urgency to establish lasting world peace is more urgent than ever. Will you look into the eyes of your son or daughter and see ‘The Last Child’?
Peaceafists, activists for peace, is producing this project, We are looking for donations to help pay for airfaire and lodging to film the interview with Koko and gather footage of present day Japan. We would also like to have some budget to help pay for editing and to hire animators to tell some of the story and get additional interviews from Physicians and anti-nuclear activists Dr Joseph Limoli Deyama and Helen Caldicott as well as David Ho, and others. The more backing we are able to get, the more we can expand the project.
What makes this project different? There are many anti nuke documentaries out there and Koko has given interviews and speeches all over the world. What is pertinent about this project is we want to get her message out in ENGLISH and we are focusing on the affect of nuclear energy and warfare on human fertility and the propagation of the species. In other words, we hope to get people to take notice by hitting them right in the 'balls' and 'ovos'. The human race is on the brink of WW3 and we hope to make a very powerful statement that brings home the urgency of this matter and hopefully provides a fresh perspective and solutions to the escalating militarization and nuclear proliferation taking place as we speak.

Risks and challenges
Peacafists is already set to meet with Koko Kondo in early July. We will get her message out one way or another, but having adequate funding will allow us to secure Nash as our director and editor, to get more extensive footage and interviews and create a more powerful and impact presentation. We also hope to flush out the story and message with animation and additional interviews with locals, other govt officials and anti-nuclear activists.
The purpose of spreading the urgent message of the dangers of nuclear warfare and power to the survival of the human species. Any funds secured will help expand the scale and scope of the project and give us access to better equipment, editing and hopefully marketing. Anyone who would like to donate their time, expertise and experience to the project is welcome!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
