Drawings realized in photography which exemplify motifs such as the dark carnival, fairytales and the childhood camp of comic books.
***Edit: WE MADE OUT GOAL! Now its time to KICK THAT GOALS ASS!
If we can keep this momentum going ill be posting tons of cool new incentives backer only journal posts etc! Extra will REALLY help me get video capabilities ( all the behind the scennnesss!) and aid in making the shoots all the more extravagant ! And more..moreness?
First off, thank you for suffering through my video! While Im a huge fan of all artistic mediums & will be incorporating many of them into this project - I'm afraid video just isnt my forte haha
Manifest Fantasy is a series bringing to life my drawings from over the years into the realistic medium of photography which plays off the thematic elements of dark carnivals, ornate fairytales and the childhood camp of comic books. At the end of the year it will result in a limited edition artbook production and with hope – my first solo gallery showing!
Like I have mentioned in my video – until now all of my work has been sort of “McGuyvered” into existence. Bubblegum and a paperclip, as it were!
While I will always be trying my hardest to create something from nothing I am using this project to help me break through the platue iv hit and strive for bigger & better. So! With that said a large percent of the funds for this project will be going towards replacing old and broken down equipment as well as opening doors to new techniques I haven’t had access to in the past.
You guys are helping me reach what has been just out of my reach for the longest time by giving me the push I need to help fabricate set designs, props & employ local artists. Silk dancers! Corsets! Carpenters and skin tight latex dresses! Oh my?
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The main concern I have about the project isn't so much about if it will be completed once I have your help - so much as the time-frame for it. Because I am making it a bit of a mission to incorporate many local artists it takes time to schedule things, fit people for wardrobe, create props etc The artbook may take a bit to create before I can ship them out and eventually open then up for public purchase.
With that said, Iv been working with very minimal means up to now and created much from it so I am very confident that when given these new tools and ability to create everything will come together. The gallery wont be untill the end of the year which gives an ample amount of time to rein everything into an organized fashion.
I also plan to keep a very up to date account of the project's going-ons through places like my Facebook Fan Page: http://www.facebook.com/Unseelie.Allure which allow me to talk to everyone individuality as well as showing previews to the group ^_^
The artbook will contain images shot using the equipment, wardrobe props etc this fundraiser helps me with. So It will almost be " a year in review" , Lucky (20)"13" as it were! The books reserved in the pledge will be printed at the end of 2013 and sent out before the start of 2014. Please note it is possible this will be the only release of this book. Production of it after the kickstarters funds have been made are unlikely.
Ill be modeling as well as photographing for this project - like I always have! I like to have my hands involved in all parts of the process and could never really give one or the other up ?
Right now the page amount is up in the air because it will depend a good deal on how much I am able to raise ( ie: if i go beyond the 2000 min goal, id probly be able to afford printing larger books with more photos in it ) as well as how many diff shoots I am able to accomplish within that time frame ^_^ With that said I think the absolute least amount would be 20 pages.
