Stages: Over 20 planned, given time there could be between 40 and 80. They will be about 100 meters square (10 meters x 10 meters), with other being much larger. Environments will be designed to be diverse and enriching to the feel of gameplay, while more will be designed as fan service
Customizable Characters planned so players can create their own hybrid martial art, along with styling the look and aggressiveness of their fighter, as well as their stats
Backers will be able to voice what they want in the game

Risks and challenges: Not getting funded. This game will happen provided it gets enough funding, short of some kind of divine intervention. The full game minus the Backers' input is already planned and designed, now it just needs to get made.
Recently, I was asked how I could make such a game with only $40,000. Here is what I had to say:
The game will be independently developed by myself as the main developer. I may get artists to create some of the character art and modeling, but for the most part if not all I will be doing the coding, art, modeling, animations, etc. I will allow the funding to continue after the established amount has been reached, but this is a game I want made and so $40k should start me off fine. If additional funding would be required, I may create another Kickstarter to continue the project. But unlike "Woolfe- The Red Hood Diaries", I do not risk bankruptcy, as I do not have any employees to pay. I have the hardware, software, and skills, and the costs would simply be publishing and licensing fees as well as funding basic needs of a hard worker.... food, water.... maybe lots of Red Bull. This is a game I will not stop trying to make, as both martial arts and video games have been a passion of mine for almost 30 years. Although I do see art and some inspiration in other titles, such as Tekken, or Street Fighter, I want to bring a one of a kind game developed by a martial arts expert to life and have characters enacting realistic fighting methodology controlled by the players. Additionally, "Easy Command" modes will be available for those just wanting to play a casual VS fighter. In this sense, it will be playable as both a game and a sim. The various characters, styles and options will be a rewarding and diverse experience, which I hope will not bore gamers and have them possibly break the habit of having only one to three favorite characters. For this reason, I have decided to make this such a "heavy duty" game. Also, I want players to really feel that this is a work of art, in their hands. I hope they will appreciate it. And at the end of the period, with the game finished, I believe they will. If for some reason I need more time, or money, I will create an in depth video showing the current level of completion of the game. I hope the polished look and feel will entice more backers to support the project, and I will most like have a small playable demo available. For backers, I would probably have a second demo available, for free, showing off more characters and environments. I honestly believe there is no one else in the world better suited than me to make this kind of game and be in charge of deciding what to include. As stated, backers will also be allowed to give their input on what should be included. These inclusions will be in addition to what I include, they will not replace it. I feel this is how I can create a truly fully complete game with a polished and enriching experience.
In future plans beyond what I stated, I hope this game will completely outdo standards set by the likes of Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, etc, games developed by artists and programmers but not proper martial artists. I do believe in friendly competition, and I hope to create this game as a series to last, and hopefully have occurrences in media where our characters can collide, in the same spirit of Marvel Vs. Capcom. I hope you will choose to support my project and possibly tell your friends and connections to do the same.
