New News is Good News!

Posted by Josh Cross (Creator)

Hey 2015 GoPlug Backers,

I'm Lorri-Sue Vodi Rupard and I'm here to A.)Thank you for being incredibly patient believers in this game-changing product, and B.) To announce that Josh is currently on a plane to China to approve manufacturing details for GoPlug Gen2. The product sampling part is over; high five!

I'll be your new Point of Contact the duration of the campaign--an extension of the one you already backed (and still believe in with unwavering faith). The good news? The GoPlug Gen2 Kickstarter page will be launched soon and possibly as early as next week.

I support Josh's vision and believe in GoPlug Bag technology. I'm excited about it or I wouldn't be personally invested/writing about it/spending my time here.

Q: Who am I?

A: I'm an author, a passionate cinephile and a social media/PR priestess. (I love digital media more than a Kervorkian loves a DNR.)

My Twitter feed is @saltmediallc and my film site is

I look forward to meeting you!

Ok, that's a reassurance. Hope to see an update soon :)

Jordan, no disrespect to the makers of Lifepack bag, but it's an inferior product with fewer features than GoPlug. My upcoming post details the GoPlug Bag specifications with a comparative chart so that backers are reassured about what a superior product GoPlug is.

Have you seen the new Lifepack bag? It looks very similar to the newly designed Goplug bag.…

      Greg D;

We will launch each product individually starting with the computer backpack. As certain funding goals are achieved, additional products will be introduced (Camera backpack, carry-on, messenger) and relaunched. Again, thanks for your patience.

What about those of us who backed something OTHER than the backpack? I haven't heard anything about those other bags. Are they still going to be made, or is just the backpack getting done now?

Matthew K; I heard from Josh. Here's the skinny:

No further action is needed if you're sticking with us. You've paid and you'll get what you've ordered! Guaranteed. Hang in there. It'd be awesome if you and other backers will spread the word upon relaunch! Things are going great overseas. No additional pledge is needed.

Most current update: Bluetooth functionality final testing is done. No bugs to report. Everything has gone smoothly so far and the manufacturer placed high priority on our product. We're first in line fort production! More to come, soon!

Matthew K, stand by and I'll check on that.

Scott Good, I'm gonna do everything in my power to keep you in the loop and I just heard from Josh. New Deets are forthcoming.

I backed the backpack in the last campaign and I ordered a solar panel strip (from the website) to go with the bag. What do I need to do when the campaign starts up again ( because you still have my money from the last one?
      a) will Josh automatically transfer the money he kept for the bag and solar panel and transfer that to a pledge on the new campaign? (so effectively when the new campaign starts up I do nothing.
      b) Will I need to pledge again, if so how will this work with the money you already took from me?
This needs to be answered as it is a key question with the new campaign coming up

Welcome aboard and I hope you can provide an answer to this which I'm sure others are also wondering, which is how are the pledges for existing backers going to be handled when the new kickstarter campaign is launched? Are we meant to manually pledge again or do we get nominated our previous choices (i.e. backpack, messenger bag, etc)? Also for those who pledge additional funds to get the extra battery, will we need to do anything to receive that?

I and I'm sure others as well look forward to your reply.

I'm really hoping that we get regular weekly updates even if there isn't any real news.

Jacob, I feel your frustration and all of it's valid; I'd feel exactly the same way.

Let me preface my response by saying that I've known Josh for four years and find him to be one of the most sincere people I've ever met. In fact, I've been pitching to work with him since we met in 2012 and believe me, there's nobody more motivated than Josh, to get this product to market, STAT.

Know that I'm in contact with him daily and will keep you in the loop when he doesn't have access or is out of range; I'll post any updates asap. I'm excited; things are moving.

      Hi Lorri-Sue

Unfortunately you've entered a sh!tstorm as realistically speaking nothing can be Gen2 when we've been waiting well over a year for a product that still hasn't come to fruition. I know this isn't your cross to bear (no pun intended) but this has been horribly run for quite some time. Do you know what the actual timeline is? I'm one of those who originally stuck with Josh but became increasingly frustrated with his childish replies of "well if you're not happy then take a refund" every time.

I've requested a refund multiple times and sent multiple emails, not surprisingly never to hear back. So if we aren't going to definitively receive our products by the end of June then I don't want it. We've all heard too many lofty goals, silly excuses and broken promises. I for one have grown tired of it.

This isn't directed at you personally. But since I've reached out to Josh at least 8 times and never heard back I for one would like clarity, honesty, openness and frankly a refund if after 2 years the product isn't going to definitely be in my hands.
