30 Before 30: Traveling Under the Influence
Want more adventure in your life? Who doesn't need more adventure, right?
So this is me trying to do things the unique and exciting way - starting with kickstarter! Here I get to presell my book and tell the people who matter most to me how it's finally happening.
30 Before 30 is the story of how I, Angie Banicki, put my career on the line and took off to Europe for 30 days before my 30th birthday. Yes, me, the small-town dorkypants gone Hollywood publicist. I had spent my twenties creating high-profile events for even more high-profile clients, but I couldn’t ignore the growing impulse to take a step back, and figure out just exactly how I got there—and where I needed to go next.
So I went to Europe in search of inspiration, rejuvenation, and purpose. My solo journey was constructed from a fabric of the favorite moments and precious memories of my gracious contributors. Going grocery shopping at the Bon Marche care of Donald Sutherland, taking my parents to dinner at one of Cameron Diaz’s favorite restaurants in Rome, meeting a dandy arranged by my friend Dayna Zegarelli—each moment was a secret shortcut to something magical, connecting me to a dazzling and unfamiliar land and casting new illumination on the life I’d left at home. Think Eat Pray Love meets The Devil Wears Prada with a touch of Access Hollywood.
Angie Banicki is a connector. Angie Banicki is a traveler. Angie Banicki is a writer. Angie is a consultant for brands like Budweiser and Children's Hospital Boston. Angie creates partnerships between the entertainment industry, celebrities, and corporate brands.
A connector from the very beginning, Angie started her career interning at the famed Late Show with David Letterman and then went on to Late Night with Conan O’Brien after she met Conan at a show taping. Upon graduating Northwestern University she went to work for Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation where she met more inspirational people – children fighting illness, philanthropic college students she advised, and the Foundation’s celebrity supporters. From there, Angie transitioned to Harrison & Shriftman where she was responsible for guiding major corporate accounts including Blackberry, Nintendo, and Cartier.
Angie is always trying to find ways to bring people together for greater and bigger purposes and hopes with this book, she will be able to do that even more.

Each chapter starts with quote or email from an influential person with their travel moment (from PGA golfer Luke Donald to actor David Arquette to entrepreneur Gary Vanyerchuck).
Then my story of what happened when I experienced their "moment" on my solo adventure around Europe.
Chapter ends with TRIPPING POINT or lesson.
What remains is a tale of discovery; full of behind-the-velvet rope moments, with exploits of the Kissing Bandit, a secret tour of the Vatican usually given to U.S. Presidents, a sidetrack down to St. Tropez with Ne-Yo, and a wealth of other encounters, dalliances and escapes. But 30 Before 30 is more than just a tale of self-discovery: it’s a call to all adventurers to entertain the world’s possibilities and embark on their own personal journeys. Burnt out from your career? Searching for life’s purpose? Or just trying to get through the rough patches? After reading these stories, I hope you’ll want to guide your own adventure under the influence of the people who matter to you. And you can always ask me too.
