Strategy at Speed
LACORSA is a fast paced game based on the battle for position in Grand Prix racing. Beautifully thematic, LACORSA is a highly accessible pure strategy game for the entire family.
Race your friends in style
LACORSA captures the beauty of speed, evoking the best era of Grand Prix racing. Bring your racing obsession home with this retro-styled strategy game that offers a high degree of flexibility and fun, using "pawns" inspired by '60s Grand Prix cars and custom cards that look like they're cut from vintage racing posters. The classic look is completed with premium components like the wooden game board featuring red and white beechwood inlays.
LACORSA is geared for both poker night with the guys and family game night with the kids, using simple rules, solid strategy, and an unprecedented flexibility for "house rules." The game easily scales from simple single-hand play to deeper strategy with multiple hands as a race team. Play it safe, or drive dangerously, risking disastrous wrecks with every lap. Championship points are awarded based on the finishing order after each contest. The driver with the most points is crowned World Champion.
The art and culture that surrounds Grand Prix racing is the inspiration for this game. In Italian, "la corsa" simply means "the race."
LACORSA is a board game that meshes various game mechanics together with outstanding components. The cards control the movement of the race cars on the game board as they battle for position. The strategy can be complex but the game is simple. There are many ways to race in LACORSA. It plays well in multiple formats, with 2-6 drivers as individuals - or as race teams! With 2-3 players, each player controls a two car race team.
LACORSA captures the essence of Grand Prix racing's classic era. The art is inspired by vintage Italian racing posters and Swiss graphic design. The racecars are carefully sculpted with 60's simplicity combined with 70's proportions. This gives them a weight and width that communicates how difficult it is to pass another race car. The look is completed with the wooden game board which plays on a checkerboard theme and features red and white beechwood inlays. The LACORSA board has a special folding mechanism that allows for compact storage in a small box. This unique work of art is combined with hi-drama and plenty of social interaction as the drivers battle for every position on the track.

I would be nowhere without all the help and expertise I've received from friends helping me create what you see here. Now your backing is absolutely needed to make this game a reality. Share your love of racing and design with your support of LACORSA.
My schedule is to deliver LACORSA in August of 2017. All the art and design is complete and I have current pricing from established game manufacturers. The board prototype you see here is from the targeted manufacturer.
The Kickstarter campaign offers free shipping to the United States. We are generally Worldwide-Friendly and the other regions are as follows:
European Union $10
Rest of the World $15
Shipping to "Worldwide" areas outside Canada, USA, Australia and EU may result in additional duty / taxes. We suggest you have a good understanding of import tax of your country before placing an order. Norway and Switzerland, while a part of the EU, may be required to pay additional Duty / Tax.
Risks and challenges
While every project has risks, I've done my best to minimize any complications. I've established solid ties to manufactures within the game and toy industry. Previously I've had high minimums for LACORSA but now I am able to bring you the game at a lower funding level and at a better price.
The race cars you see here are handmade finished prototypes and are not the finished article. The actual game pieces will be hand lacquered wood and not spray painted like the prototype cars in these photos. The board prototype is correct and the elastic mechanism is well tested.
Shipping is always a risk, especially when shipping international orders. At this point, I am planning fulfillment for both the US and the EU to keep costs down. The expected ship date of August 2017 is entirely realistic but delays may occur. If that doesn't work for you, I will gladly process a refund.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
