UPDATE: AUDIO EXCERPT FROM WORLD ON A STRING
UPDATE: NEW ILLUSTRATIONS FROM DANNY POPOVICI
The purpose of this project is to raise funds to print the first edition hardcover, and to complete the App and e-Book for World on a String, a thirty-two page picture book that offers a uniquely uplifting perspective on loss.
When his best friend, a big red balloon, comes untied in a thunderstorm, Charlie is overcome with sadness. However, inspired by the happy memories of his best friend, Charlie is able to shift his perspective and, ultimately, he imagines his balloon on an amazing journey into the starry night.

UPDATE: NEW CONCEPT ART!
Here's some cool digital sketches/concept art for oil paintings/illustrations that Danny's currently rendering:
Author: I'm Larry Phifer and I love picture books: small words, big pictures, happy endings. It's the perfect formula. I've never read Sam McBratney's Guess How Much I Love You or Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree and not felt happier than I did before. In any case, the good ones move you. I formed Storytime Works to bring together authors and artists who want to try to do the same thing. World on a String will be our first publication.
Illustrator: The illustrations for World on a String are oil paintings by Danny Popovici, an amazing artist out of Portland, Oregon.
Composer: The score for the App for World on a String is being composed by Justin R. Durban, a fantastic composer out of Austin, Texas.
