About this project
Agatha Hattie is young, wealthy, little girl who seems to have it all. Her whole world is turned upside down when she meets a dancing vampire dog on her way home from school one day. Agatha must now deal with becoming somewhat of a monster herself as well as her new fate as Queen of the Night!
This is a fun and silly children’s picture book written by Jacquelyn Fedyk and illustrated by Leslie Nan Moon. It is a Gothic fairytale for strange parents to read to their odd little children; much in the spirit of Edward Gorey or Roald Dahl .
We have done all the work needed to put the book together and self-publish it on CreateSpace.com.
The writing and editing is done and the illustrations are done.
We need to raise $1700.00 to purchase a publishing package with CreateSpace.
The package includes:
• Book Cover Design (with Leslie’s original artwork)
• Custom Interior (putting the book together in a professional format)
• LCCN Assignment (registration with the Library of Congress)
• Kirkus Indie Review (a professional review to promote the book)
• ISBN Assignment (barcode)
• Online Distribution (distribution through sales channels including Amazon.com in physical format and Kindle format)
Leslie and I are both stay-at-home moms in single income families. We are really proud of the work that we have done on this project and we need a little help getting it out into the world so others can enjoy it as well.
We have some amazing rewards available to our backers. If you choose to back this project you will not go away empty handed. We have original hand-printed linoleum art prints that Leslie has signed and numbered. We have buttons and bookmarks and a digital audio file of the book; complete with a reading by the author (me) and original music by composer Myke Fedyk (my husband).
Most of the rewards DO NOT include a “printed” copy of the finished book. The money we are trying to raise is for the publishing package only. Additional costs would have to be available to purchase books once the publishing has been taken care of. We wanted to keep our cash goal to the bare minimum hoping that we can at least get this book published.
We hope that backers will be willing support us with book sales as well when the book is released.
If we go over our goal we plan to use the extra money to have a small run of books printed so that we may tour local bookstores and libraries to self promote our book.
We are 150% committed to making this book a success and we will work hard to promote it! We just need a little help to get it out there.
Thank you for your support. We love to entertain you!
Jacquelyn Fedyk and Leslie Nan Moon
