Noise is a documentary about a group of young musicians. Each musician chosen is from a different genre of music and have different goals for their musical progress. Each will describe how they compose pieces from writing lyrics to constructing instrumental backing. For every group or artist chosen, that said musician will perform a cover of a song that they have selected. By placing these segments side by side we are hoping that the audience is able to see the similarities between each artist, regardless of genre.
What is music?
This will be the consistent question asked to our bands and artists. Music causes reaction. It can be emotional yet it can also be technical. One person can use music as a form of ventilation, describing how they feel or react to certain situations. While another person could be curious about adding effects to their composition, experimenting with different pitches and reverberations. Noise is a documentary designed to make you think about what you're listening to and what makes you react to your favorite song.
Samples of Selected Bands:
Sub-Radio Standard is a rock band with a slight acoustic and pop influence.
Charlie Bare is an acoustic player with an indie, folk influence.
Trey Jones is a R&B and gospel singer.
I'm a songwriter and poet who has extensive experience on stage and in the studio setting. When I write lyrics they typically come from my life experiences. Over the years I've become increasingly intrigued by recording and experimenting with sounds. Both the emotional and the technical aspects of music fascinate me. I believe creating music is a very purposeful process. I listen to other artists and the way they compose pieces, constantly asking the question "why?" Why am I interested in this song? What makes it work? Sometimes I ask myself the complete opposite. By asking yourself these questions about any art form and adequately researching the answers, one learns to appreciate the makings of these pieces. These are the questions I want the audience to be able to ask themselves and effectively answer.

Risks and challenges
As any film making venture goes, Murphy's Law is in constant effect. The crew I've assembled together is a very versatile group of individuals but even with that said here are some things that could possibly go wrong.
