What is your backstory
In late October 1929 a worldwide economic downturn started called The Great Depression. It had devastating effects in virtually every country, rich or poor. As a response to the devastation happening to this country, President Franklin D. Roosevelt formed the Civilian Conservation Corps. He recruited thousands of unemployed young men, and enrolled them in a peacetime army. He sent them into battle against destruction and erosion of our natural resources. These young men were taught forestry and outdoors skills in which they protected & maintained national parks, built firebreaks, roads and trails. Most importantly, it provided jobs and desperately needed income to destitute American families. These young men ages 17-25 were once in the depths of poverty, became honored stewards of their environment and community. The transformation of this motley, rag tag bunch, now nicknamed Roosevelt’s Tree Army revitalized the faith and hope of the nation through their service to their community and country.
About Roosevelt Tree Army
The original Roosevelt Tree Army gave rebellious kids from the city an opportunity to go out into nature, be empowered and see life differently. Though the world seemed to be against them, they would persevere bringing hope to their families and become instruments of change.
Roosevelt is a clothing company inspired by these and other trouble makers, the rebel, the American anti-hero. Our country's history has been shaped by people who have ignored the status quo. At our core, we make clothing for the misfit, the eccentric, the dissentient; That though the world stands against them, they are still crazy enough to think they can make a difference.
A. $11,500 - Minimum amount needed to go into production for tees, beanies, and 1 color way of American made indigo “Japanese” selvedge denim.
B. $35,000 - Allows us to add multiple colors to our traditional selvedge denim. By reaching this goal, we would be able to offer 3 color ways to the traditional selvedge denim - indigo, black and grey.
C. $75,000 - Custom woven selvedge fabric in multiple color ways developed specifically for Roosevelt. This includes custom yarns, weaves and dyes resulting in superior premium goods. This also plants a seed towards our longevity, letting us expand into other clothing categories and providing a firm foundation for the following season.

Risks and challenges
From our combined experience we understand that there are risks and challenges that lay ahead of us. Here are our biggest hurdles for this project.
- Custom Fabrics: Our main challenge is to raise 75K of capital. This would allow us to create and offer selvedge denim with our very own custom yarns, weaves and dyes. If we don't raise 75K, we will use specialty fabrics from the global market.
- Shipping: Delivering goods on time is an obstacle in itself. In a perfect world, we can have the fabrics, yarns, rivets, buttons, leather patches, and labels at our factories three weeks after the Kickstarter ends. Even while coordinating and juggling the entire production process, we guarantee we'll ship everything to you in 12 weeks, if not sooner.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
