My name is Ryan Goldsberry. For the past decade, I've been creating art for my buddy Tim Fowers and the board games that he has designed (www.fower.games). A couple years ago, I also started working with another friend, Jeff Beck (uproariousgames.com). So, I thought it would be cool to make a bunch of enamel pins out of the art. Who wouldn't want a Paperback logo, or a Juicer pin attached to their lapel or their backpack?
This is the goal!
As soon as we hit $1800, these SIX pins will become available for you to choose from. We've got the Paperback logo, the Lady of the West Paperback cover, the Juicer and the Hacker from Burgle Bros., and the Marshal and the Fugitive (otherwise known as The Rook) from Fugitive. These designs are prototypes, and there's a chance a few small edits might have to be made before the final versions are produced.
If it were up to me, I'd make around 100 different pins. My wife says we can't afford that. So, any extra money we get in this campaign will go towards making new pins available. I'll open up a new pin every $400 above and the initial goal.
What pins will I make available for the stretch goals? This is where you come in. If we pass the initial goal, then I'll be sending out a survey with a bunch of different options. Like I said, I would love to make as many pins as I can, and for the stretch goals, I'm going to let the amazing fans decide which pins get made first. If you look below, you can see the details for eleven pins that so far have been made into prototypes.
Above are all of the prototypes that we've put together. But that's not all! I'm open to other options as well. Perhaps you'd like to see the police car from Jeff Beck's upcoming Getaway Driver game? Maybe you want to see a little something from Hardback, or maybe some pancakes from Fugitive? Perhaps you'd like to have a character from Word Domination? The options are practically endless! Let me know your thoughts and ideas in the comments, and if there is enough interest, I'll happily add other options to the survey.
The pins will vary in size, ranging from the smallest at 1.25 inches (for the short Acrobat from Burgle Bros.) up to 2 inches. The metal type will also vary. Some are silver and some are gold. You can see those details above. But all pins will have the following in common:
Here are a few examples of what the backing cards may look like. These are not final, and may change, but rest assured, the pins will come attached to a cool backing card.
If you're into stickers, then we've got some of those available as well! These will be full color vinyl stickers. Each sticker will be 4 inches. You can purchase a sticker by itself, or add as many as you want to your order.
Thanks for supporting this kickstarter campaign. I hope you'll lend us your opinions and I hope we'll be able to make a lot of pins!
Risks and challenges
No big risks here. I already have a good manufacturer that will be producing the pins and stickers, and I have a solid foundation of participating in multiple successful kickstarter campaigns in the past. I'm expecting things to go smoothly!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
