“I thoroughly enjoyed [Fist of Justice]. I was impressed with the way that you took what seemed to be designed to be a one-shot and segued into a series. The is-it-real-or-is-it-a-delusion angle was very well played... Nice work.” - Jim Shooter
WHO IS THE FIST OF JUSTICE?
So who is this Fist of Justice guy? What's the big deal? Fist of Justice is a man out of time, a cat with his heart in the right place -- a true hero from the 70s awakened in our time.
Fist of Justice was the super-heroic defender of Charm City until he made a fatal mistake that ended his career. He threw in the towel and was locked away and soon forgotten. But his power -- though dormant -- did not leave him. Now it has returned and resurrected FOJ -- restoring him as defender of a city dealing with the new villains of the 21st century. Villains who are tougher, stronger, and meaner than ever.
Fist of Justice is created by Mike Imboden and Ed Dukeshire.
WHO WORKED ON THIS?
You know who got his comic book start in the pages of 'Fist of Justice'? That's right, Chad "Harley Quinn" Hardin and Yildiray "Supergirl" Cinar. We've also had the pleasure of working with many other talented folks shown below. And everything was written by Mike Imboden (FUBAR) and co-plotted/lettered by Ed Dukeshire (Hulk, Irredeemable, Sons of Anarchy)! Artists in this trade paperback collection include:
- Chad Hardin (Harley Quinn, Spider-Man, Stan Lee's Traveler, Warlord)
- Yildiray Cinar (Supergirl, Teen Titans, Adventures of Superman)
- Anthony Castrillo (Bloodshot, The Flash, Hawkman, X-Force, X-Men)
- Dario Carrasco Jr. (I, Frankenstein, Alpha Flight, Nova, Star Wars)
- André Coelho (The Flash, Ms Marvel, X-Men, Blue Beetle)
- Pow Rodrix (Justice League America, Wolverine, Lady Death)
Kickstarter has shown us that projects that couldn't originally happen, are now possible. Mike has been asked by many, many fans for a trade paperback collection, but the reality is, the costs were just too high for us. Support with your pledges can change that. This Kickstarter will help pay for the printing of the trade paperback, new comic book, all the rewards, shipping supplies, and shipping. Plus, let's not forget the fees associated with Kickstarter and Amazon. Extra money will go into giving you great stretch rewards, enhancements, and production of future issues. We'd love to get Fist of Justice out there on a regular basis once again with your help! But in order to do this, we need your help and support. Give us a chance to show you why we love this character so much.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
The central piece that we're showcasing is a beautiful trade paperback collecting DWP #s 24, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 and Fist of Justice #1. That's close to 115 pages of story! The icing on the cake is the long-awaited sixth issue of Fist of Justice is also available which kickstarts his return to comics. There's even an opportunity for YOU to appear in a special 8 page story that will be included with #6 for the appropriate reward tiers. Plus T-Shirts! Who wouldn't want to walk around with a Fist of Justice T-Shirt? So with your generous pledges, we can afford to make this great trade paperback collection. And with your continued support, we can even make this trade paperback a nicely bound hardcover book!
Our digital rewards will be served through our friends at ComiXology. The ComiXology App is available on every device which includes iPads, iPhones, Kindle, Surface, Android, and are also viewable on the web through your web browser!
SOME KEY TIERS
Update: Please note the tier graphics below reflect what you get in the tiers themselves. Some items weren't listed on the right because we weren't able to edit them in time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
ORIGINAL ART TIERS
You pick the characters you want drawn/painted. Can be Marvel, DC, or even your own creator-owned characters!
Note: Check our updates section to see larger versions of these commission examples. Remember, commissions are drawn for you so you pick what you want drawn!
Just added! FOJ logo black T-Shirt. Now you can choose which design you want. We'll send a survey at the end of the campaign letting you choose. If you would like to get both shirts and already have a shirt on your pledge, please add $20. If your tier doesn't include a shirt already and you would like one, please add $25.
Some cool stretch goals are planned which include Increasing page counts so we can add an impressive behind-the-scenes section in the trade paperback (we love this stuff and we're sure you do as well). These include development art, covers, unused pages, and more. And we could even print issue #7 and include that as a reward for your generous pledges.
Risks and challenges
This is a low risk, high reward project. Because all of the artwork (aside from the special 8 page story) is completed, it's merely a matter of formatting and printing the book, tweaking some pages, rejiggering some story elements, and enhancing some art. All money that we net from this project will be going towards paying for the printing of the TPB and #6, the new eight page story, rewards and Kickstarter/Amazon fees. If enough is generated we'll be able to pay for future single issues! Yeah, that's right, issue #7 and beyond!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Unfortunately, no. We were able to get the Digital Webbing Presents appearances and up to issue #5 of the regular series into comic shops before Diamond pulled the plug on us. So we'll be selling issues at comic conventions and any comic shops that will purchase directly from us. If this Kickstarter campaign is successful, we will create more to help fund and distribute future issues. We have lots of stories to tell and want to share with you.
We are publishing just what appears here on Kickstarter. But basically, we're considering ourselves as Digital Webbing Studios. So, if a publisher approaches us wanting to publish and distribute Fist of Justice for us, we're happy to talk to them!
