About this project
WHAT IS THIS?
The story of Fist of Justice continues in a 128 page full color trade paperback collection! Plus we're creating an all-new comic featuring Amy Andrews as the Fist of Justice. Written and illustrated by Mike Imboden and Eduardo Savid.
Fist of Justice shows our love for classic comic book stories. A totally retro-style superhero dropped into our time. If you ever read any comics back in the 70s and 80s, you'll feel right at home here.
WHO IS THE FIST OF JUSTICE?
So who is this Fist of Justice guy? What's the big deal? Fist of Justice is a man out of time, a cat with his heart in the right place -- a true hero from the 70s awakened in our time.
Fist of Justice was the super-heroic defender of Charm City until he made a fatal mistake that ended his career. He threw in the towel and was locked away and soon forgotten. But his power -- though dormant -- did not leave him. Now it has returned and resurrected FOJ -- restoring him as defender of a city and facing the new villains of the 21st century.
Along the way, Marc reunited with old friends, made new ones and saw how different the world was from when he last saw it. Think about it. Back in the 70s, there were no home computers, internet, cell phones, HD wide screen televisions, hoover boards (wait, that hasn't happened yet), and a bunch of other stuff.
Changes is the second volume which collects issues #2-6 of Fist of Justice, and continues FoJ’s journey towards reclaiming his life and finding his place in the new world. Of course, nothing’s ever easy; enemies, both old and new, stand in Marc’s way as does the repeated appearance of the enigmatic Professor Mistyk who keeps sending Fist to alternate timelines for reasons that have not been fully made clear to him yet.
Digital Webbing is just Mike and Ed self-publishing Fist of Justice comics under the Digital Webbing banner name so we look all professional-like. We aren't even distributed by Diamond. We're selling our books using the old-school (grass roots?) method of comic conventions until some publishing company likes what we're doing and offers us mass distribution.
The funds we're asking for help will let us print this new trade paperback collection, printing of the new Fist of Justice #2.5 and all your rewards, plus pay the creative fees, shipping and Kickstarter fees. The new trade paperback will be printed just like the first one (this is NOT print on demand).
This is where Kickstarter comes in. Without Kickstarter, we couldn't continue to put out these collected volumes or new stories. We know you dig the books, you tell us all the time!
WHO WORKED ON THIS?
Mike Imboden and Ed Dukeshire (who wrote and co-plotted the stories), art from Eduardo Savid, Chad Hardin (Harley Quinn), Pow Rodrix (Joe Martino's Cyberines) and Ric Milk (Little Heroes) along with inks and colors by Edemilson Alexandre, L. Jamal Walton, Brian Shearer, John Wycough, Matt Webb (E-Man), Mickey Clausen, Stacie Ponder, Juan Manuel and Deon Nuckols. Plus copy edited by Kevin Melrose and Mike Exner. This team of greats grace the pages of our second spectacular collection.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
The central piece that we're offering is the second trade paperback collecting Fist of Justice, issues #2-6. That's over 100+ pages of story and art!
All commissions come with the signed and numbered Fist of Justice; Changes trade paperback, limited edition #2.5 comic, and Series III sticker, plus digital rewards.
Risks and challenges
This is a low risk, high reward project. Because all of the artwork (aside from the special #2.5 story) is completed and paid for, it's merely a matter of formatting and printing the book. All money that we net from this project will be going towards paying for the printing of the TPB and production of future issues.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
