FATLiP WILL BE FUNDED! WAHOO!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT! NOW FOR SOME STRETCH GOALS...
If we raise an extra £350: we will be able to film, edit & release a video of the live performance at The Yard, for free, for all to access online. This is really exciting, because it means people all over will be able to see the show even if for geographical reasons, or because they are skint like us… Having a filmed version of the entire show will give us the much needed resource to go to other spaces and say ‘hey – this is our show – want to programme it’ and get us on our way to regular bookings and a sustainable income.
If we raise an extra £600: as well as having it filmed and available for all, raising £600 means that we can bring in a British Sign Language interpreter for a very special performance of Lost Boy Sketches, making the show accessible for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Being able to do this would be a dream come true for us. If we raise an extra
If we raise an extra £1,000: As well as the video & the BSL performance, we’ll be able to have an extra bit of money to buy & rent additional props & set for the show – which will turn the stage into an incredible half-pipe.
If you need to know why you should fund us, read the campaign below...
At best Toby is an award-winning artist who has performed with the National Youth Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company and Cardboard Citizens, and at places including Battersea Arts Centre, Roundhouse and Berlin International Literary Festival.
Toby is currently waiting to hear back from Domino's Pizza in Edenbridge about a job.
At best Jak is a member of rock band Minimum and a composer for games, films and theatre shows.
Jak works 9-5 as a Clerk for a law firm in Birmingham.
At best, Dana is a creative producer and fundraiser who has worked with over 90 artists; raising over £180,000 for the arts last year.
On 10 April, Dana received a rejection letter from Arts Council England saying they would not consider funding Lost Boy Sketches at The Yard.
We're FATLiP - and at best, we're mythical.
At worst, we're just a bunch of broke artists.
We've been together for a year and performed our first show, Lost Boy Sketches, to over 2,000 people in nine cities.
We currently have £3.74 in our bank account.
About The Project
From over 450 applicants we were selected as one of ten up-and-coming voices in theatre, and given a slot to perform at The Yard's NOW '15 Festival in London from 9 - 13 June. We're given a weeks run, the opportunity to make money from the box office, collaborate with an inspiring mentor and get our career on track. It's a dream come true.
Why Does This Matter?
Last year, one of the shows from the festival transferred to The National Theatre; another is being made into an E4 TV series. This could be the launchpad for our career - this is why it matters so much. We are never going to get an opportunity like this again.
We'd love to say "support us by buying a ticket" but the reality is that at the moment, we can't even afford the trains to get to the show ourselves.
We refuse to let this beat us and we want to make the show the best it can be - which is why we seriously need your help. It's tough enough being a young artist in this day & age - but when your own government doesn't believe in your ability; that seriously knocks your confidence.
This is why we've set up the FATLiP Adversity Council - so you can cut out the middle man and pledge your support directly to FATLiP to help us get Lost Boy Sketches to The Yard. Your help gives us hope, motivation & self-belief.
What We Need From You:
All we're asking from you is to help us rehearse and get to the show - we have everything else covered thanks to the brilliant Yard Theatre, our mentor Greg Wohead & to our amazing Technical Manager, Gareth. We've even started selling tickets.
There's no partial funding here - it's all or nothing. Why? Well we have nothing to lose. It's very simple - if we don't raise £1,000, we can't do the show.
If 100 of you wonderful people donate the equivalent of a show ticket, we'll hit our target.
If just 20 people pledge £50 we will hit our target. Will you be one of those who helps us get to our goal?
How Your Money Will Be Spent:
Toby: £294 (Two Weekly Travelcards: Edenbridge to London)
Jak: £157 (Two Weekly Travelcards: Zone 1-4 + return train to Birmingham)Gareth: £132 (Two Weekly Travelcards: Zone 1-6)
Dana: £117 (Two Weekly Travelcards: Zone 1-4)
1 June - 7 June: £300
8 June - 13 June: £0 - Show Week at The Yard
All we're asking for is £10 - the equivalent of one ticket to the show: for that you'll get some an awesome reward in the shape of the Lost Boy Sketches LP so even if you can't come to the live show, you won't miss out on experiencing it. Have a little teaser of what that sounds like below:
If you can't afford that, please give what you can and you will still be thanked and listed as a supporters.
If you're skint like us, please share this page with people you think might be able to help, and if you think you'll be less skint in June, please do come and see the show.

Risks and challenges
The risk is that, if we don't make our funding, we won't be able to meet & rehearse for the show. There's only so much we can do over the internet - we simply need the space to make it great. It feels like a shame if we're given this chance and we don't have the ability to make it the best it can be - especially with so many important eyes coming to watch it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
