[Why We're Crowdfunding]

Material Futures is a 2 year MA at University of The Arts London. We take materiality as the starting point of the design process to actively re-think future needs, desires, and challenges.

Since 2014, the intake for MA Material Futures grew from just 16 to a cohort of 27 strong designers - the biggest number since the course started in 2001.

This year, we have taken the driver’s seat to promote our course as an initiative to raise awareness and engage the public in the increasingly important themes of climate change, renewable resources, systems change and digital citizenship.

[About Our 27 Projects]

We investigate current and future implications of design through social, political and economic enquiry. We tackle diverse subjects from materiality in the digital world, the future of medical care, sustainable energy, migration in the 21st century and the potential of synthetic biology.

We are optimistic about the future and passionate about our research and we want to share this with the world.

[Our Kickstarter Aim] To create an impactful showcase that can exhibit all 27 projects at Milan Design Fair 2016 (Ventura Lambrate) and Central St Martins Degree Show 2016.

[We Appreciate Support of Any Kind]

We have created special "Thank You" packets that will include a range of items from VIP tickets to our invite-only Central St Martins Degree Show 2016 to a selection of limited edition artwork and tote bags.

[Homage to Enzo Mari]

In addition, we are also offering a limited run of hand-crafted tables from the iconic Enzo Mari, Autoprogettazione Collection. The Autoprogrettazione manual was created by Italian designer Enzo Mari in 1974 as a design guide to a collection of furniture that could be assembled from the most basic materials, using just a hammer and nails.

Enzo Mari Autoprogettazione Table - Specifications
