Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Pain, & Dealing with it.
Due to pain and fatigue, I am just going to do a quick update. I have Fibromyalgia and Arthritis, exacerbated by (severe fluoroquinolone toxicity), which have rendered my hands nearly incapacitated.
My dear husband and life partner, Rodney has been helping me edit the tutorial video. He is my hands. I sit beside him and tell him what to do. He will also help me with text and illustrations. Every night he spends hours massaging my achey parts. He helps me cut vegetables, wash dishes, and perform many of the basic tasks I once managed with ease.
I am pursuing treatment, but struggle every moment of every day. Work on the project is slow because my whole body hurts all the time, not just my hands. The medications I take to manage the pain make me weak and tired. Sitting hurts. Everything hurts, always. There is no cure for my condition.
I am struggling to come to terms with the possibility that I may never be able to sew, design, work or draw again, but I still have hope. I am still dedicated to completing this tutorial, however it may not be as shiny and beautiful as I envisioned it, and there is a very real possibility that I may have to abandon this project and dream altogether. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt as I hold back the tears.
Because I am in a constant state of pain, I am even more empathetic to others who suffer. I have been trying to stay positive by participating in Animal Activism. By speaking for Voiceless and Oppressed animals, I feel like I am helping, even in my limited capacity. Helping to relieve the suffering of others gives me purpose and hope during this depressing time of disability and personal suffering.
