About this project
ZARKON GODS AND DEMONS is an epic fantasy graphic novel. Inspired by the idea of ancient civilizations being in contact with aliens. I have seen documentaries and read articles relating to this subject. Whether or not this topic is true to our history, I found it stimulating for my fantasy themes. In traditional stories about our heroes - including different cultures - the driving force behind these heroes are Gods or demi-Gods. I am fascinated with the fact that aliens can take shape in the form of us, yet remain the Supernatural force that can govern and manipulate us.
After the experience of painting the Wanderer (Errante) and other epic stories, I began developing the character and environment for Zarkon. I wished to convey the manner in which Zarkon perceived his God, in order to fight his Demons. However almost all, including the mighty Zarkon himself, were not even able to recognise the extraterrestial as their true selves.
Sample from the graphic novel
The style is hand painted in the medium of acrylic. I could have used Photoshop which is more practical and economical. I believe that live painting is the more suitable for the epic fantasy and also because I've been inspired by the masters of Frank Frazetta, Simon Bisley and Richard Corben.

Risks and challenges
One of my greatest challenges will be the obvious factor of time.
As I mentioned previously, producing hand painted art works for an 80 paged graphic novel requires patience, and perseverance. After the first edition of Zarkon is completed and backed successfully, I must begin the sequel immediately.
To avoid such challenges becoming a hindrance to my future projects I have already set up a strict timeline that runs over the course of a two year plan.
