P.P.S. For those who don't know. I do not work for Sash. I am a long-time customer, owner of 20+ Sash bags, and backer of this Kickstarter—11 bags to come! I know a lot about crowdfunding, and I have grown frustrated with those who do not. If you have any free time and wonder what I'm talking about, I suggest you go read some of the hateful, mean messages the Sash staff have received. These ladies are working like crazy to get everyone taken care of, and I can't sit idly by why people talk about the bags they "bought" on Kickstarter, the artificial timelines they seem to have created in their own heads, and their mocking of and cruelty toward the infectious, delightful, brilliant CEO and creator of Sash bags or her staff. It's not OK. It's not on. It's not OK.
P.S.? I have really ironic screenshots from when you changed your name briefly to Jennifer something. And I do believe you have removed your last name from here? Deeh, isn't it? Again. Wow. Bless.
Sandi, I've said it before, I'll say it again: Bless your heart. My. name IS Jen Lorraine! Aren't you a clever clogs? Considering I have my photo here and on FB, I hardly think that is top secret information. Seriously, lady, find a new hobby. You saying I'm abrasive and abusive is literally the funniest thing I've read in quite some time. Pot, kettle. Seriously. That. Is. Hilarious. 🤣
O'boogie, if you are going to smack down the lot of us when we have legite questions and concerns, perhaps have the integrity to use your real name rather than an acronym. JEN LORRAINE isnt it?
Secondly, your comments both here and on vip are abusive. We the backers, have a right to our opinions, to ask questions and to dialogue.
Lastly, your abrasive comments may not have the affect you think they have. Newcomers are more likely to think twice about backing a project that includes being harshly chastised for their opinions.
In this campaign there has been a big gap between promises made and delivery of same. Backers have a right to be anxious.
@Jen Cohen We should be receiving them soon! Email us firstname.lastname@example.org
I cannot deal with some of the cuckoo bananas people who lack reading comprehension. If you are tired of waiting, don't come here to whine. CANCEL YOUR ORDER AND SPARE US ALL THE WHINING. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for all of the informative updates. Like most, I enjoy and appreciate them. I can even hear them in your voice. Your enthusiasm and joy are infectious. I feel sorry for the people who are so miserable unhappy with their own lives that they live to complain about a BAG. Also, for the millionth time, you did NOT buy a bag. You backed a project and were given a reward that you will receive soon. If soon isn't good enough, again, PLEASE DELETE YOUR ORDER and stay off these comments. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE.
Could you update us when this shipment of bags leaves India?
@Shana, usually about a week, but again, I hesitate to state specifics because there are so many points of transition in a shipment and delays can occur at any one of them. But when things are smooth, it doesn't take long at all.
@Mary, you might have a defective strap. Please reach out to customer service at email@example.com for a replacement.
@Lisa, Michelle, Donna, Gjhughes, Christina, Cheryl, Savannah, SweetKimy, Leslie, Susan, and Sidney / Lori… thank you for the kind words! Your support is amazing!
@Joanna, if you want us to send your bags ahead of time and not wait for the last bags to arrive, please reach out to make an arrangements. Multiple shipments to Australia are outrageously expensive, so I don't have an answer to that right now and our customer service team will be better equipped to support you. firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks!
I feel we should clarify, again, that we didn't self impose deadlines. What we offered were "estimated delivery dates" at the beginning of the campaign based on a series of unknowns. Not knowing how many bags would be delivered (which is why our estimations only covered 5,000 bags, as communicated multiple times in the campaign and subsequent updates). Not knowing how long it would take to custom make 10,000 bags. It's not like we're just being lazy and deciding to have things take time to torture everyone. It literally takes one person two days to make a bag, and we have 400 people working on this right now. So, you just have to be patient and let people do their work. We can't manifest bags into existence, we have to create them carefully so they are good quality. Again, if you are unhappy with the communication or the process of waiting for your custom order, we invite you to reach out and cancel your order. No hard feelings! We will continue to communicate updates in the way we find most useful to the majority of our customers. I recognize people might have their own preferences of communication style, but we are who we are and have never pretended to be anything else so we are going to keep rocking it out here and focusing on the positive. Have a wonderful week, everyone!
How long does it take for shipments from India to reach the US and Canada?
Can you do maybe 2 updates each time, - the long wordy, boring one that a lot of us don't really care much about, but those who are interested and super fans no matter how long this takes wanna read, and the TL:DR version for those of us waiting for this as a gift for someone who just want an estimate of when they are going to get their bag? :/
TBH, the updates are just more frustrating I find as they don't seem to really have information in them, and if they do my baby brain can't work it out - if you don't know, fine - just say that, if you do, say a rough estimate (ie In March - in 4 weeks time - in about 2 months....), otherwise stop with the self indulgent 'oh look I'm in India having an awesome time on your dime' posts, they are frustrating and a lot of your backers, who are paying for all this, resent it basically.
Agree with the other people who mention running a small business you deliver on what you promise, whether thats via kickstarter or not - to be honest I wouldn't expect many recommendations after this whole process - whilst yes things go wrong and there are delays, the way you deal with them is key and the way you have dealt with this has been ultra frustrating to me personally, so I'm guessing it has to others as well. I still have no idea when to expect my bag, and have basically given up hope other than 'I might get it, one day, if I'm lucky!' , telling the couple of people who have heard of you and expressed interest to me to not bother. Like I say, I get things go wrong, and that's the nature of Kickstarter too, but just stop with the waffle (is this comment annoying, long and waffley!!?! Yeah, I know - That's my point!!), cut to the chase, tell us when our bags will be with us (and not just America - what about Australia?!) and stop harping on about the amazing fun times you are having on our dime. I for one resent it when I'm no nearer to knowing when I will get my outstanding bag.
The benefit of a chart isn't for pinpointing exact dates - it's that they are much easier to quickly comprehend vs parsing out multiple paragraph of text attempting to determine which verbose sentences include the specifics of ones particular bag or bags.
I'm guessing Sash Bag staff uses charts, for instance.
@Deborah ... the anticipated delivery date of December only applied if less than 5000 bags were pledged. Backers ended up pledging for 10 000+ bags. Each bag is handmade and quality takes time. Also, some delays (like the US Government shutdown, which halted imports) are beyond Sash’s control.
I believe that close to 5000 bags (in the most popular colour choices of black, brown, and black/brown reversible) were delivered in December.
I’ve backed about 40 KS campaigns and this one has been one of the most transparent. (For the record, my bags will likely be some of the last to be delivered as 3 of the 4 are faux extra. Thing is, I’m confident they’ll get here as soon as Sash can make it happen. )
Delays after delays for something that was due 2 months ago.
Hosnestly if you have a deadline and meet said deadline, you should make it up to your customer, I would know I am a small business owner too.
@Savannah ... the faux expandables (all versions and colours) are done and in the next shipment. The faux classics and extras (non-expanding) are delayed due to a material shortage.
Thanks so much for the update. You and the Sash team are doing a GREAT job!
As for the new extra expandables that will be available for pre-order, will the designs now include the improvements learned from the KS (such as bringing the zipper all the way up to the top of the pockets, less slouch open pockets), or will they be the same as the KS designs?
Hi Nicole. Thank for the update. Please consider a blue (navy or misty blue) extra expandable bag as a pre order color if you can. Thanks again!
I've had my bag for over a month now, inasmuch as I love the feel of the bag, 3 times now it has unfastening itself at the most inopportune times. The last time I was riding my bike where it came apart in a bad neighborhood, I barely had time to grab it before someone else.
My suggestion would be to include more snaps on the inside - I have mine adjusted to as close to my body as possible (it still hits my knee when I bicycle and it is annoying). I'm a size 12/14 women's so I think women even smaller than myself really have issue with this problem.
Thank you for the update. I’ve been with you since the very first kickstart. I trusted you then, and I trust you now. Keep smiling and be amazed at how many people consider you their friend and wish the best for you. Hey, I’m one of those people 😁
Thank you for the update. You are great about not letting us feel forgotten 😉. I’m (pretty patiently) awaiting my misty blue ee. Thanks again for keeping us in the loop!
I have 8 more to come in my sashmania order. I understand that the Honey will take longer, but will I get my others delivered sooner? Or will they all come together? To Australia
Can you tell us which Ikat are coming in the next shipment and which ones are coming in the final shipment?
Thank you so much for the update. It is absolutely appreciated. I was wondering about the status of my misty blue sash the last couple of days, pondering whether to email the Sash team and voila! There you are with an update tonight! You all are fabulous. I love your updates and business sense. 👏❤️ Thank you
Confused?? In one paragraph it says the faux es and ees will go out the end of the week and later that they won’t go out until the end of the month?? Please clarify.
I am so proud of the great job y'all are doing!
Between Kickstarter and Indiegogo, I've backed over 100 crowdfunding projects, and y'all are by far one of the most reliable of all of them so far!!
With most campaigns, I wait and wonder IF I will receive my perk. With Sash, I know that it will happen. I love the security I feel in knowing that the integrity of this brand is one that we can believe in and that we WILL receive the perk we requested!
Y'all are doing such an amazing job in the fulfillment as well as with staying transparent with updates and the setbacks that you are encountering.
Thank you for making your backers a priority!!
So exciting! Can’t wait!
So excited to know my bags are under construction. Having knee replacement next week and know that I won't have to worry about my things because they will all be nicely stashed in Sash. And while I am anxious to get my three new ones, I will happily use one of the four I already own until they arrive. Really excited to see my extra expandable Calico. So much fun!
You da bestest!! <3
Wendy, haha! Yes, you are welcome to come scope out our space and see the magic happen!
Lynn, please email us. :-) email@example.com
Yay! Hopefully grey leather is added to regular production for expandables too!
Hi Lynn, if you wish to swap out your Kickstarter bag for a classic style in stock, just send an e-mail to our customer support team at firstname.lastname@example.org. They will be able to take care of that for ya :)
Thanks so much for the update! I would like to get more info regarding swapping the faux expanded square for a classic.
So by the time we are there for sash bash a shipment should be at the store. So the store, when we visit, will be packed with crates, SO don’t worry we are taking souvenir pictures with everything everywhere. We will have pictures behind crates, on crates, peeking through crates, under the sashes, over the sashes, through the sashes....what great pictures we will have! Oh the places we will go...the things we will do......at the sash store! Lololo
Thank you Kyleen! We appreciate the feedback! :)
Yall are doing a fantastic job. Thank you for all of your hard work.
