I Love The Green Economy: 3 Podcasts in 5 months.

With your generous support we will:

  • Produce three podcasts, from August to December, 2013, with business leaders who are successfully negotiating the minefields of green innovation while meeting the bottom-line.

  • Push the boundaries of the new journalism by combining live video, animation and graphics to make the new economy relevant, exciting and meaningful to a broad audience.

  • Give young, budding journalists and designers the opportunity to develop skills that include video presentation.

Speaking Green to Not-Greens, or How
I Learned to Love the Green Economy.

Try telling busy executives how climate change is going to affect their business. It's all just headache-inducing noise. They just don't want to listen, unless it comes from business leaders they respect.

The reality is that worldwide pressures on water, energy and other raw materials are affecting access to markets, pricing, the nature of innovation and new product financing. These changes mean opportunities for corporations as well as entrepreneurs, but also demand new partnerships to deliver increasingly complex solutions.

The businesses that are succeeding are creating the road-map for others to follow. Our podcasts will take executives through the success stories of those who have walked those paths. We will use our experience as journalists, with years of explaining complex ideas to industry leaders. With your help, our podcsts will engage the business community, showing how we can create a stronger, enduring green economy.

We know that if our business community is healthy, then our broader society will flourish.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

Challenges to our efforts include being unable to find and hire qualified personnel, to engage high-level speakers, or to produce high quality, original podcasts.

Find and hire qualified talent.
• We have over 40 years of experience leading creative teams, and hiring and managing talent. We already have a successful track record of training and managing the interns that are the backbone of any growing media company.
• We also have over 14 years of University teaching, helping students to learn how to think critically and write clearly.

Engage high-level executives.
• The idea for the podcast evolved out of breakfast meetings with executives, who see a need for a comprehensive vehicle to feature their strategies and learn about what others are doing.
• We have a contact list of over 4,000 industry personnel, ranging from CEOs and CFOs to engineers and research professionals.
• We have already received positive responses to our inquiries from business leaders in medium, large and Fortune 500 companies.
• We will be engaging our newly expanded advisory board to recommend people who are innovators.

Creating a high level product
• We have over 25 years of experience in video and film production for corporate communications.
• We are working with a documentary film company that has over 60 years of experience producing high quality podcasts, corporate documentaries, marketing videos and CDs, and audio. Their current list of clients range from national corporations and non-profits, to local community groups.
