You are in the void realm between hell and earth. A 'kindly' spirit named Fate explains you have been sent here to prove you are worthy of redemption. You are tasked with reaching the top of a tower.

You have lots of choices to take on your challenge to reach the top of the tower. Fate will insist on guiding you her way, but it’s your decision. At the start you will feel a bit ‘too guided’, the consequences of not listening to her usually fatal. As you get further into the tower you’ll start to discover secrets, hidden areas, and risks will become more rewarding,
The puzzles and challenges will get tougher, more complex, and much scarier the higher up the tower you go. Basic timing events to mind games and trickery, by the time you reach the top, you will know true suffering.
Not every 'puzzle' is moving blocks or turning valves. Sometimes you need to get a little more creative in clearing the way forward.
(So many games ignore this…why?!)
We worked our BUTTS off on the cinematography. Okay cool you solved the puzzle? *insert click sound* 'Tada' the doors unlocked… NO NO NOOO Why? Why do games do this, especially horror? I want to see a flying mysterious glowing cube whiz around and enable an evil looking device filled with gears, ambient lighting from the machine illuminating the room, torches on the walls bursting into flames one by one, and the chains rattling as the gears begin to twist and turn pulling the entire floor up from beneath you to reveal a giant dark pit with screams and echoes… okay, NOW the door is open. Jump down it… I promise it’s completely safe. Ignore the screams. That’s what I want to happen when I solve a puzzle!
Full sound attenuation (3D Sound) on EVERYTHING, from gusts of wind, drops of water, to that mysterious chain rattling in the distance. You will hear exactly just how far, and in what direction every sound is coming from (Best used with headphones). True echoes and reverberation will also be used throughout the entire game. Every sound emitted will bounce off materials with different absorption properties (stone, cloth, glass etc) within the game, and calculate the distance travelled to get back to you and adjust frequency, delivering a hauntingly realistic accurate interpretation of true sound (Demo video showing player walking out into the open, and then back into a passageway).
Excluding the physical signed edition, we’re not going to do any merchandise. We want to place all funds raised into the actual production of the game. That's not to say we won't be rewarding you with cool exclusive kick-starter content! *points below*
Monuments will be engraved with your names on them. These monument will be included as part of the game. The peasant monument may be a barrel filled with dung somewhere, whilst the Royal tier monument will be a significant element such as a giant golden statue. (They will not be 'hidden' but subtly incorporated.) It'll be a fun way for backers to find the monuments throughout the game as you play, and search for your name.
Lantern Skins The lantern is a BIG part of the game. So having the option to change the appearance of it we figured would be a cool idea. Now giving you guys exclusive lantern skins that no one else can attain. Well... now wouldn't that make everyone else mad ;) *evil laugh*
The lantern skins are 100% exclusive! They will never be available to anyone else. So you can show everyone YOU supported the game. Unless you’re a filthy peasant… in that case just try your best to hide your lantern (seriously no one wants to see that thing!).
Say my name baby! So... you've been playing the game for hours, listening to the seductive voice of Fate. You're wondering, what would my name sound like coming from her lips? Well wonder no more! Fate will speak your name as it scrolls through the credits.
An exclusive boxed physical sealed edition of the game. Signed by the voice actor of Fate. There are currently only plans to produce 25.
A beautiful artistic map of the entire tower level by level, signed by the concept artist will also be included in the physical edition. The map will reveal hidden passages and secrets!

If we receive considerably more than the goal, we will put it into making a nice prequel of a previous souls experience called Fred. This will explain a lot of missing and mysterious back story to Fate. Her origin story you could say. This will be released within 6 months after initial release (free to backers).
