The Wrath of Salistah - Part One
I'm making a retro RPG! This is based in an original world, featuring a unique hero. Won't you help out?

Keep in mind, this is just an alpha build. The graphics you see are most likely going to be upgraded at some point during production. These are just placeholders being used in order to construct the game. There's still a lot of work to be done on it before it's finished.
The Wrath of Salistah will be a four part epic RPG set in an original fantasy world. This campaign is for part one, which takes place on the continent of Onalim. The lead hero, Ralph Whittaker, wakes up on the coast of Onalim with no memory of how he got there. Unlike other typical RPG's of this type, Ralph has full memory of who he is and where he came from, he just doesn't know how he ended up in his current predicament. With the help of a friendly group of locals he sets out to discover more about where he is, and hopefully how to get home. Salistah himself is not featured in this installment, he is the final boss of the overall story.
The basis of this game started as a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I designed way back in 1990-1991. I originally planned to write it as a novel, but quickly realized my 14 year old self had a long way to go before he could write professionally. Over the last 24 years, my friend and I have been steadily building the lore and history of the world known as Reglof, expanding it into a world with a truly epic scope and history. Lately however, I've been feeling nostalgic. With the release of the excellent game making program RPG Maker VX Ace, I am finally able to bring my old D&D campaign to life. I'm thrilled to give others a chance to experience my dream. Hopefully this will be the start of something that lasts for years to come. :)
In order to release the game commercially, I need to purchase the full version of RPG Maker VX Ace. Your contributions will help me pay for that, and enable me to purchase tons of tilesets, monster and character packs, and many other upgrades to the core program. This will allow me to make each successive part of this game increasingly better. I will also be able to use these upgrades to create other games in the future. Your contributions will help make my dream come true. :)
There is now a Wrath of Salistah Forum!
It was suggested by a viewer that I open a forum to discuss the game. I have done that, and the link is below. This forum has several screenshots that are not here on the Kickstarter page. I encourage anyone with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to post to the forum. Anyone with ideas for improvements, or maybe features you'd like to see added, drop those in the forum as well. I look forward to seeing your suggestions!
Risks and challenges
This will be the first full video game I've ever made. I am slightly hampered by the limitations of the game engine, but that won't be a big problem. I'm learning quickly, and finding new features constantly. In the long run, this is going to be a great game (In my own humble opinion). If I achieve the funding I'm looking for, the only real roadblock to push through will be the manufacturing of the t-shirts, posters, and coffee mugs. With places like spreadshirt.com, etsy, and many others, this won't be a problem. Everybody will get their rewards on time, no problem. :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
