Final Edits & Last Call for Preorders!
Good morning wonderful Kickstarter supporters. I know it is quite a long time since this process began - in fact, yesterday was exactly one year since my Kickstarter campaign finished and the idea for this book became a reality.
The great news is that the wait should shortly be over! I'm hoping to send the book to the printers next week before I embark on a creative writing course to help me get the other stories that are in my brain out onto pages and into the world.
I've had some amazing support over the last year whilst writing this - from every one of you who pledged and to those who have been behind the scenes cheering me on, reading, proofing and helping me edit the book. One of those is the incredible Jenny Baker, author of Run for Your Life. I asked her if she'd share a quote for the cover. She said this (and I don't think she was just being nice):
"When you face a challenge like a cancer diagnosis or deep depression, you need a friend who can help you navigate the days ahead. When they hit you at the same time, you need Alice-May Purkiss. Both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply moving, this book cuts through taboos about mental health and reveals the reality of going through cancer treatment in your 20s. Honest, compassionate and insightful, Life, Lemons and Melons is a compelling read about resilience and endurance that leaves you equipped and hopeful, whatever challenge you’re facing yourself."
As I prepare to go to the printers, I'm keen to try and get any last minute orders under my belt before the first print run (though if there is enough interest, there'll be more in the future), so if you know anyone who might be interested in Life, Lemons and Melons, please do point them towards my website here and tell them all about this GREAT BOOK YOU REALLY THINK THEY SHOULD READ.
Thank you again for everything. Genuinely could not have done this without you.
