Life, Lemons and Progress

OH HIYA. Happy New Year to you! I know it's probably too late to say that but I haven't said it to you so to hell with the rules!

ANYWAY. I just wanted to update you on progress with Life, Lemons and Melons. Writing is well and truly underway, but I have to be honest and tell you it hasn't been easy. Writing about all of these things has kind of wreaked havoc with my mind so I've been trying very hard to balance writing while working and treating myself to lots of self care and being as forgiving as possible when things don't go as they should. But progress is being made! I sent 4 first drafts to my lovely friend who is proof reading for me and I am hoping to get all of the chapters finished and sent to my other lovely friend who is editing for me by 11th April.

In a bit of other news, I will be talking about Life, Lemons and Melons at Crossing the Tees Book Festival in June (I think the website is a work in progress at the mo), and provisionally at Trew Fields in July. I want to get as many speaking dates in as possible because I love doing them - so I'm hoping this is the start of something wonderful. I'll share more details of both of these events when I have them. It would be wonderful to see you at one or both!

Georgia has also been working up a first draft of a front cover for the book and I can honestly tell you it's bloody brilliant and I am continually grateful to have such a wonderfully talented creative person on my side, especially someone who believes in the project wholeheartedly. I can't wait for you to see it when it is finished.

If everything goes according to plan, you'll be getting your copies in June or July. I know that's a little behind schedule but I hope you'll forgive me for the delay and I hugely appreciate your patience. Every time I have a wobble and think what I'm doing is a terrible idea (which is often, I'm sure you're not surprised to hear), I'm reminded of all of you who have pledged and every one of you gives me a little nudge to keep it up.

SO THANKS. Basically, you rock.
