One week ago I just update linux-desktop vlc and now have 2.2.0 with hardware acceleration and no ffmpeg lags. This is great!

    2. Creator John Ong on January 9

Vlan org guys, instead of scolding Windows Phone users on Twitter, is it possible that you can actually post more updates to this project that's been going on for 2 years now. I backed this Kickstarter and would actually like to know the progress of the RT app now that the Phone app is still having issues?

    3. Creator Carl Nelson on October 27, 2014

Can we have some news or answers on why we haven't been added and where this project has gone?

    4. Creator Yui on October 5, 2014

@Carl I'm still waiting for my name to be added to the silver sponsors list.

    5. Creator Carl Nelson on October 3, 2014

My name isn't even in the thank you list, what! D:

    6. Creator Rickard Nordström Pettersson on October 3, 2014

I really dont understand, i like to say you are fake, if i know that you should make RT version i should not backed you up, it has been more then 1½ year after estimated delivery and i have not got a Alpha yet to test. Why Windows RT, i dont have any numbers but i should think that there is no big business in Windows RT, as far as i know no one i know has buyed a Windows RT computer.

    7. Creator Andrew Gohde on October 1, 2014

They can't compile on ARM. No RT or Windows Phone version coming any time soon. REFUND ALL BACKERS!!

I'd really like to see the Windows 8.1 RT version that I backed released before Windows 9 is formally announced.

    9. Creator Ive Grbic on September 17, 2014

Still no Windows RT and Windows Phone 8.1 version? Is anyone working on this or you all are too busy with Android and iOS?

    10. Creator Andrew Gohde on July 25, 2014

Windows Phone App coming in August still, no word on RT. Actually, NO WORD AT ALL FROM THEM ON KICKSTARTER!!!!! Thank God for tech sites.

Im not even in the "thank you" list... Wow, thanks guys.

    13. Creator Andrew Gohde on June 9, 2014

Windows Phone app coming in August supposedly. As always, thanks for the timely updates and keeping those who gave you money in the loop.

    15. Creator Ramanth Vadlamudi on May 10, 2014

When is the RT version for ARM devices coming out?

    16. Creator Greg T on April 14, 2014

Any update to share regarding your roadmap after the //build/ announcements ?

    17. Creator Andrew Gohde on March 26, 2014

Since Neowin is reporting all the latest updates, here's what the Windows Phone version will look like.

Has this been recompiled to ARM yet? A large proportion of us are waiting for this.. we have the desktop version of vlc on x86

    19. Creator VideoLAN on March 17, 2014

@John Ong: sorry for the crash in the initial beta. We pushed an update yesterday, which is available on the Windows Store right fixing this issue among lots of other bugs. Another update is forthcoming later this week!

    20. Creator John Ong on March 17, 2014

This app isn't usable since it crashes on startup on my surface pro. It seems I am one of a handful of donators that's having this problem and wonder if there are any work around to this issue. I understand this is still in beta, but I don't think that even beta stage should perform better than this and I sure this setback is only going to delay the RT version even further.

    21. Creator Greg T on March 11, 2014

@SardonicGorilla As they've explained, you cannot get an ARM/Window RT version without going through the process of converting the code to the "Windows RunTime" (WinRT).
The path really is (win32) -> (WinRT x86) -> (WinRT ARM) -> (WinPRT - phone)
You cannot do it in any different order.

Update regarding the ARM version :

So people running windows 8 (Intel) now have two VLC apps and people running windows 8 (arm) have none...
      Yep well played... Massive -**FACEPALM**-

    23. Creator Greg T on March 10, 2014

So when they said Monday, it meant submitted to the store, not published. So with the app certification times, it wont be before another few days, up to a week. :(

I just feel bad for the people who donated 1200 pounds and had to wait over a year with the rest of us with less than stellar updates.

    25. Creator Greg T on March 6, 2014

To their defense they're not a company as such, just a bunch of blokes coding a really cool tool so i'm grateful for that. But it would only be polite to keep us informed as opposed to the random posts you can find on the PCInpact forums.
I dont get it. Even if it's buggy, just release it as a non-public app, and let the backers feel the love and feel that it was a good thing to give away some money.

I dont get it. Their communication is just so disrespectful. I made quite a big pledge and I really feel I've been ripped off.

    26. Creator Andrew Gohde on March 5, 2014

I'm with you Greg. Found out by Neowin once again! It would have been nice if they released it to backers at least a few days ahead of time since we've waited OVER A YEAR!!!! I will never support this company ever again.

Recently Microsoft released a preview version of Windows Phone 8.1 SDK for selected developers.
I hope that files management will be improved with this .1 update! :)

ais plus attendre que celle-ci voie le jour. Moliplayer pour WP8 n'a certainement pas pris 1 ans a être codée et pourtant elle est parfaitement complète...

    30. Creator Sergio Gonzalez on January 28, 2014

    31. Creator Pericart Maxime on January 28, 2014

    32. Creator Sergio Gonzalez on January 26, 2014

@Andrew: Exactly, neowin readers have more informations about this project that the people that paid for it...

    33. Creator Andrew Gohde on January 25, 2014

Thanks for not updating the people that gave you money before tech websites! This KickStarter has been a joke with lack of updates, communication, etc. You should refund everyone.

Happy new year! where is VLC Metro?

    39. Creator Francisco Jose Navajas Carreño on December 21, 2013

      We have it before 2014?

    40. Creator JP Martin on December 10, 2013

mmh, I see a "VLC 5.0 Media Player" on the Windows Store... sounds like those guys are a knock-off. Perhaps VideoLAN should take some action?

    41. Creator Sergio Gonzalez on December 2, 2013

Yay, almost 2 month without update yay! :D Sérieusement maintenant, une petite mise à jour serait la bienvenue

    42. Creator Andrew Gohde on November 30, 2013

No updates and no product and it's been a year. Meanwhile MoliPlayer came out, http://www.wpcentral.com/moliplayer-pro-hands. So now, tell the people who gave you money, what's your excuse?

    43. Creator Francisco Jose Navajas Carreño on November 30, 2013

You should tell microsoft remove from windows 8.1 store all apps that claim to be vlc, or which include vlc or videolan on his name, and that even they hover between the 3 and the 6.99 euros, that should not be allowed.

    44. Creator Danny W on November 23, 2013

For anyone looking for video player on Windows Phone 8, checkout MoliPlayer. It plays 720p h264/mpeg2 video flawlessly on my Lumia 520. Trial version available and costs on $2.99.

    45. Creator Danny W on October 31, 2013

@John Ong, no change, no delay. Just not this year.

    46. Creator John Ong on October 28, 2013

Does the release of Windows 8.1 changes or delays the release of VLC?

    47. Creator Bryan on October 7, 2013

Thanks for the update. I take back my previous comment.

    48. Creator Bryan on October 7, 2013

These guys are scam artists. No one should donate any money to these crooks.
