About this project
Hi, I'm Robert McKenzie, and this is the Kickstarter page for my newest short film, LEADER.
A group of homeless people lives together at the local park. One day, a newcomer, Adlin, decides that he wants to make a change for the better for these people. His charisma wins him the support of every man in the group. A wise old man only known to the group as "Bench", however, decides that he is content with his way of life. Throughout the rest of the story we see a growing struggle between Bench and Adlin as Adlin's plan goes into effect within the group- instilling hope within the men but ultimately doing nothing but harm. The true question is, is hope all that the men needed in the first place?
This is based on a true (yet unrelated) story that is very important to me, and I believe that I can tell it in a way that everyone will understand.
What you're funding:
As mentioned in the video above, I will use this money to buy a camera, lights, power sources (There is no electricity at the location), camera equipment, and a license to film in the area.

Risks and challenges
In the foreseeable future there are only a few things that could slow down the production of this film. None of them, I assure you, are enough to cancel production. The first is that I am working to get actors to fill the positions in the film, and that may take longer than expected. I plan to start filming as soon as I have all the positions filled. The second is that, of course, I am still in high school. This means that filming can only be done on the weekends. I pledge to spend any available time during the week to get any editing, planning and script blocking necessary to help with a smooth production and completion of the film.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
