About this project
Greetings friends! My name is Warren Thomas Fenzi and I am a multi-instrumentalist currently living and making music in Minneapolis, MN. I am in the process of making my first solo record for WTF, my newest project! (Yes, those are my initials). This is where I need your help…
Music has always been an extremely important part of my life, acting as a potent healing catalyst and something that I have witnessed bring people together and help individuals relate with something bigger than themselves. I can think of a hand-full of records that have changed my perspective and had a defining role in my life. My hopes are that this record will do the same for others in creating something new, honest and innovative. To give you a taste, here's the first song off the record...
I began my musical journey in Elementary School on the drum set. Dreams of one day owning my own kit permeated my very soul and thanks to my beautiful, supportive and loving parents, this dream came true on Christmas day of 2001.
All the way through High School and into college, where I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, I stayed extremely active in music. Through the years I have been an active member of many groups of varying styles and have continued to write and record my own music.
Now, I call Minneapolis, MN my home where I have been living for the past 2 years and for the first time ever, I’m recording a full-length album of my original music! With the help of my beautiful and supportive friends, we have been recording the entirety of WTF’s debut record in our basement home studio.
My vision for this record is to write and record as many of the instruments on my own along with the accompaniment from my wonderful musical family.
We just returned from our first WTF tour to the west coast (CO, AZ and CA) where we performed in Boulder, Flagstaff and Santa Monica. This trip was full of nothing but beautiful people, places and experiences. We also set out to capture the cover art for the record!
When I was 5 years old, my aunt Pat sewed a pillow for me with my initials on it. With the wonderful idea from Karl Remus, this quickly became the beginning of the journey to travel back to my roots on the west coast and capture this pillow in locations that have deep meaning to me. We will pick one of the many pictures we have taken of the pillow for the album cover. Alternate album cover prints will be available to backers!
All of the songs included on this record have been compiled over a period of 4-5 years and tell a personal story of trial and error, growth, pain and overcoming obstacles...within and without. It is my goal to create something new, inspiring and moving. It has been a dream of mine for a long time to write, record, perform and print my own album. I truly believe you will connect with this record. I need your help to make this happen!
With the goal of $8,500, I will be using these funds for…
- Mastering, Vinyl and CD printing of the album (Available in the rewards or for purchase after)
- Poster Printing (Also available in rewards or for purchase after)
- Hiring a professional film crew to capture our release show at Icehouse on August 31st. I will be hiring Cello, Violin, Clarinet, Saxophone and Trumpet players to accompany us. The footage of our performance will be released soon after our show.
- Transportation for tours leading up to/taking place after the release of the album
- Payment for musicians, engineering and production
Thank you so much for your support! We truly hope you are as excited about this record as we are! Here are some videos of us performing live...
Risks and challenges
As you may or may not know, Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing program which means that if we don't reach our goal of $8,500, we receive no funding whatsoever. We are prepared to release the album digitally regardless of the outcome of this campaign and we know you will enjoy it either way! If we are successful, we are prepared to fulfill all of our rewards in a timely manner. Shipping will be done by "yours truly" so please realize that your estimated arrival day of the record may change but I will try my best to have it to you within a month of the estimated ship date. Arrangements for shipping outside the U.S. will be made on a backer to backer basis.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
