Monthly update #9 — Better late than never!

Posted by SadSquare Studio (Creator)

Hi oh, you wonderful people!

We're a bit late this month on our update. We didn't plan on including any screenshot this month, but to amend for this outrageous tardiness, we've decided to include two.

What's happening in here?!

Much as always, we're working on the game full time, so much that it's been difficult to find time to clear other tasks like keeping you guys updated, which are just as important! Silly us!

The changes of this month

We've encountered some issues that could have been of catastrophic proportions, if left unseen, but our keen eyes can't miss a thing! Here's a part of what we've been doing this month:

  • As your eyes can tell, the visuals of Visage aren't benign—in our humble and totally unbiased opinion *wink wink*—so optimization has been a huge part of Visage's development. We've recently spotted a bug that could have been game breaking on the core gameplay mechanics due to these optimization, and it took some time off of us, but it's fixed now.
  • We've also, yet again, encountered a problem with the inventory system. We're still thinking on this one, and we might end up making a real-time inventory system, which mean you'd be able to store items in the world, instead of the magic bottomless box or bag of the standard survival horror games. We'll keep you updated on that one.
  • More and more gameplay! Of course we've worked mostly on the crucial scary stuff, A.I., story, and all that, but of that we can't say much. Spoilers are bad for your health!

End note

To all of you who support us, in mind or in pledges, thank you. We'll work day and night to deliver you your most deserved digital scares and thrills.

End note #2 — Looking for Kickstarter projects to support?!

If you're looking for project to back, we've stumbled across StarFlint by Stunmason Games, and it looks really nice. It's pretty different than what we usually promote, not being an horror game, but we thought we'd throw it out there anyways!

We'd love to see that project come through, so if you're interested in point-and-click games and Sci-Fi comical adventure, definitely head out there and give them a hand!

I purchased the CA$ 150 pack. Is it too late to purchase the next tier somehow and help design an achievement? :D

Everything's looking great! Still hyped for this game. Take your time!

Take your time with the game, make it as good as it can possibly be :)
Looking great so far. Any chance of a trailer soon?

    4. Nathan Erickson

Awesome screenshots this time! Especially when you didn't plan to include them. Ha.

@Night, I'll read that later when I've got a couple of hours to spare :)
Just joking, I'll read it Tomorrow!

Thanks for the update guys, those screen shots look good, that's what I like about Visage, less is more, especially with the first one, who's that figure in the distance?, can't quite make it out, high chill factor!!.

Also I think a real time inventory system would be cool, being able to store items in the world would be pretty immersive, and as for the bug fixing, keep squashing those bugs, less for us players to find :)

Lastly I'm happy with some screen shots in these updates, I appreciate you don't want to spoil things before we get to play the game.

      Keep up the hard work!

In light of your choice of title, I would like to share this:

Bonus points for reading it all and not skipping to the end.

Less updating and more coding! Just kidding, always good seeing hardworking devs do something else than coding or physically visualising :P
