Túbereka - Store fresh beans or grounds and brew on the go!
Add fresh grounds and water and brew your coffee up to one hour later. Three pods for the freshest beans or grounds all day.

The inspiration behind Túbereka is that great tasting, fresh coffee should be enjoyed no matter where we are in the world. We knew there had to be a way to store, brew and drink fresh coffee without the need for additional equipment. The idea of brewing on the move created the spark; our research proved there was not a single coffee maker that could brew fresh coffee without an immediate supply of hot water. We got to work.
First we looked at the problems associated with making fresh coffee on the move. The coffee itself. Right now, carrying fresh coffee wherever you go is impractical. You either need to carry it in an air tight jar, or the bag that the grounds/beans were bought in. We designed the solution. Three pods that store the perfect quantity of coffee for each cup. They sit perfectly in the base. STORE FRESH GROUNDS AND BEANS (portable grinder required)
Then we looked at convenience. Making coffee in the morning is a delightful luxury. But it takes time. Like using a French press and transferring it to a flask. And other portable coffee makers require you to brew at home before leaving for the day ahead. That's because they need a supply of hot water and they must be sealed before leaving. Túbereka brews whilst sealed.
A series of seals and vacuum holes allow the pressure to be released on both upward and downward movements.
These holes are sealed when the plunger is screwed shut. But the patent pending features allow air to be released when plunging, and allow air in when raising. No other vessel can do this, which means coffee can be made anywhere. The internal pressure, the precision engineered filter and the perfect quantity of coffee allows for super low extraction when the ingredients are separated. This means your coffee will not brew until you are ready for it.
Coffee is added first, then the plunger is replaced before water is added. The ingredients are kept apart.
Brew your coffee up to one hour after first adding the coffee and water. When you raise the plunger, the brewing process commences. The internal pressure then works to your advantage. As you depress the plunger, the vacuum holes release air outwards and downwards. The pressure is released slowly so there is increased extraction between the grounds and water. The plunger only needs to be raised for approximately 90 seconds before a rich brew and crema are created. Once brewed, the filter prevents any further interaction and the micro-holes keep grounds below the filter.
No steeping, no 'overbrew'. Fast brewing.
Coffee on demand
Of course, you can simply add your coffee and water together and make coffee immediately. Perfect for using at home or work.
Túbereka has a 'glug' free spout. A sealable vacuum hole relieves pressure, so coffee pours freely from the comfortable mouthpiece. Or you can remove the lid for a more 'cup like' experience. If you really love your favourite mug, simply brew and decant direct from Túbereka.
As you tip the contents air passes into the cup to prevent glugging
Facts and figures
The early bird savings are huge. If you help us to bring this project to life not only will you beat the crowds, but you'll save over 20% on retail prices.
This is hugely important to us. Túbereka is built of premium, quality materials, which are designed to last.
It's been three years between concept development and final prototype. Extensive testing has taken place and we now have a product with the best array of features for STORING, BREWING AND DRINKING fresh coffee. We have worked with specialist design and manufacturing teams to bring this project to life.
Risks and challenges
Our final prototype has been extensively tested and all working parts have been analysed. Manufacturing has been costed and sourced. Shipping fulfilment contracts have been pre-approved for domestic and international backers. The manufacturing process includes different processes to those used in prototyping. These will improve the final product even further and testing of these parts will take place as soon as they are landed in the UK, in February/March 2018. Allowing for this stage and any amendments, we aim to ship before September 2018.
We've worked tirelessly to build a campaign that we hope you can be proud of. We have gone about every stage the right way, without 'cutting corners'. We have made our funds go a long way with hard work, determination and a brilliantly professional and talented team. We hope these traits demonstrate to you, that if we are successful in raising the funds, we will continue to work tirelessly to fulfil your pledges.
Above all else we want to create an accurate, focused and fun campaign for you to participate in with us. We hope you believe in the value and principles of the project enough to pledge. If you do, thank you, sincerely. And don't forget, if you love the idea of what we're trying to achieve, there is a good chance that someone else will. We need to harness the power of community to make this happen! Please share! Thanks from the team at Túbereka!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
