The Bad Guys!
The Bad Guys!

It's been a while but we're back with another 50 fantastic 28mm sculpts!  As with our first Kickstarter, we want to produce miniatures that aren't tied down to a specific conflict, allowing them to be used in all manner of games and systems.

We've got:

- South American cartel soldiers

- African insurgents

- Republican guard

- European rioters

- American survivalists

This time our inspiration has come mainly from Hollywood, so we'll leave you to guess which movies we've been watching!

Our initial funding target is £3000 and there's also some stretch goals ready to go, including Humvees, leaders, robots and more!

Everything kicks off at 6pm on Saturday 27th October. The campaign will run for 14 days so make sure to get your pledges in!

Links and more info to come very soon!

Long time, no speak!

Hi everyone,

First of all, I hope everyone is well and please accept my apologies for the silence since our Militia Miniatures KS campaign was completed.  I hope you've all enjoyed the miniatures!

When the project finished we were planning on a quick follow-up of some vehicles and bad guys, but unfortunately a few things conspired against us in that endeavour.  Firstly our sculptor was unable to take on more work, so the bad guys were put on the back burner.  Secondly my day job at Pendraken over the past 9 months has been crazy, with us buying up the Blitzkrieg Commander rulesets and releasing our Warband Fantasy rules, it's just been non-stop.

There is good news though, in that we did start getting some new vehicles sculpted using 3D design and printing.  The first of these is a 1:56th Humvee which is away with a resin company at the moment being moulded up.  The quality of this model is outstanding (you'll have to take my word for that!) there are ZERO print lines on the master print and a level of detail I'd not even realised was possible in this new technology.

The main model will be cast in resin and will come with separate wheels, suspension mounts, rear bumper and front bullbars, all cast in metal.  We'll have a couple of gun options for it, along with a couple of different gunners for up top.

Timewise and release wise, it's not going to be a quick turnaround, but we're hoping to have the first models ready for release around the end of the year / early 2016.  These will be a traditional release on the Militia and Minibits websites rather than another KS.

On the figures side of things, we are still looking for a new sculptor and are hoping to make some progress on that front in early 2016.  There are a lot of sculptors out there, but we want to make sure we get the right person who can put out quality sculpts that fit in character wise with our initial 10 Merc's.

That's pretty much everything for now, once again I hope everyone is enjoying their miniatures and we'll keep you all updated as we progress with these new items.

Cheers,

Leon

Update #23 - All shipped!

Hi,

It's a good feeling to announce that all of the packages have now been shipped!  The last batch went out on Tuesday, so everyone should have their figures in hand anytime now!

I'd like to thank everyone again for their support, this whole experience has been great fun and we've enjoyed every minute of it (almost!)  The project went mainly without a hitch, and I'm glad that we've been able to hit our shipment deadlines.  I had hoped to get everything shipped out a month early, but we didn't quite manage that unfortunately.  Something to improve on next time though!

Now that we've completed fulfilment, we'll be taking some time over Christmas to work on some plans for our next Kickstarter.  We've already started working on some designs, so once we're a bit further along we'll send through some updates and teaser pics for everyone.

The miniatures will be getting a full release on the 29th November, the same day as our local Battleground wargames show.  If you know anyone who missed out on the KS, or someone who's been tempted by your figures, tell them to head over to the Minibits website to grab some Merc's for themselves!

I'll also be replying to those of you who left feedback as part of your surveys.  This will be 100+ emails, so I'll work through those as and when I get time, hopefully all before the end of the year.

Cheers,

Leon

PS, And finally, it's a little early, but I hope everyone has a good Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Update #22 - 4th batch shipped!

Hi,

Another quick update for everyone, the fourth batch of packages went out in Friday's post, so everyone up to backer #155 has now been shipped out and should be with you soon.  This only leaves 12 pledges outstanding, which should be done and shipped out on either Monday or Tuesday.

Just as a quick note, we were still waiting on some of the objective markers to arrive from the resin caster, so a few of the packages have been delayed while the last of the stock arrives.  This only affects 5 pledges, so those will go out with the last batch on Mon/Tues as well.

Let me know if I can help with anything!

Cheers,

Leon
