Risks and challenges
The prototypes you see here have been tested over months and we are quite happy with their performance. As as result, we are optimistic about the prospects of meeting the deadline. Just in case something unexpected comes up, the timeline has some built-in cushioning.
Because we have been able to test the prototypes thoroughly, we are not too worried about having any major functional complications when we go into production. Our manufacturing partner is a wonderful woman named Melissa who we have worked with on other projects in the past. Her quality is outstanding and she manufactures kitchen products for some of the top brands like Alessi, Oxo, and Prepara. It is important to us that we collaborate at each stage of the project with established professionals we can rely on.
This is our first time shipping goods ourselves. Usually we do the design work, verify the quality of the production and then the boats, planes, trains and trucks are all up to other people. In order to protect the project from rookie mistakes, we are partnering with industry leader DHL for the transport of the goods from the factory to the distribution center in Los Angeles.
This distribution centre is part of the Shipwire network and our new best friend Steve at Shipwire is going to hold our hand through each stage of getting the rewards shipped out in a timely and organized fashion. (Thank you Steve!)
