With Stretch Goal #5 we UNLOCKED the option for what we are calling the Thalia Capo Tuning Kit. This kit includes additional fretpads including a 12-String and Classical Fretpads. Please see update number 8 at http://bit.ly/thaliaupdate8 for more details!
We are considering the Mother of Pearl to be an Abalone option. So if you want MOP please select one of the rewards for Abalone. We will collect your inlay selection for type of wood or abalone at the end of the campaign.
We tried really hard to manufacture the Thalia Capo in the USA but were not able to even come close to a price that would work. So we made a compromise. We will do partial assembly in China and then final assembly in the USA. This approach ensures that we will personally touch every capo before it reaches the hands of our customer. Our team here in California proudly sources, fabricates and assembles all of inlays into the capos while completing final inspection and test. We feel that this unique supply chain model will be a critical component in building a quality brand that you can love and trust.
We tested more than 20 different materials for the fret and neck pads. Traditional capos use rubber or silicone and we tested those materials but found a much richer sound with a slightly harder and more slippery material. We also added some Teflon to the material to make it silky smooth when sliding around the neck. The result is an amazing sound and action that we know you will love.
We introduced the "tuning kit" as an option upgrade as part of Stretch Goal #5. Please see here for an overview of this expansion kit that allows you to tune the capo for different instruments and for guitars with extreme fretboard radii. http://bit.ly/thaliaupdate8
