A Clip with Latvia's Complicated History of 1940-42 Told in 2 Minutes.
Only in animation a complicated concept or event can be explained concisely and briefly, without losing the emotional essence of it. When I was writing "Rocks In My Pockets"' script I had to ponder how to put characters into the historic context without giving too much screen time to the context itself. After all, the film is about depression and this particular family, not a documentary on Latvia's history. In the 2 minute clip below you'll see how I solved this particular problem. If you have concerns or objections, if you feel I misrepresented some events, please let me know. This is still work in progress, we can make changes. Thank you!
We are also happy to announce that about an hour ago Rooftop Films have posted an interview with me about "Rocks In My Pockets" on their blog:
AND we are thrilled and honored to report that Sundance Institute posted "Rocks In My Pockets" campaign on their curated Kickstarter page! See it here:
THANK YOU for being an important part of making "Rocks"!
