About this project
Since 2009, Emilee Wilson has been interviewing different people about their perspective on pole dance. Everyone knows it is a form of fitness, but does it belong in the Olympic Games?
Pole-itics is a short documentary that poses questions such as, "Should these sexy athletes wear stilettos?" and "What would the ultimate prize be for winning the vertical bar?" There are a variety of voices in the film including organizations that are passionate about standardizing the sport and audience members that are witnessing public pole for the first time.
It is an exciting time for pole dance and competitions are sprouting up everywhere. This film is lighthearted, yet emotional and packed with professional dancers. Whether they're on the pole or having a discussion, Pole-itics is entertaining and sure to leave you wondering, "Is the world ready for Olympic pole dance?"
Remember, "No tipping and No stripping"- Emilee Wilson
