65535 & Mr. Orange

Posted by Onipunks (Creator)

We made it!! We've achieved the impossible! We broke the 2 bytes barrier, the famous magic number 65535 was surpassed, and fortunately the total amount didn't go to -32767. OK, enough nerdy talk.

Again, a huge thank you to all of our backers. You are awesome! The backers-only forum has been set up, so you will be able to interact with the C-Wars development team after this KS campaign.

Also, this update is a tribute to the most unknown and loyal character in our Kickstarter video – the lonely Mr. Orange!

Most of you might not even have noticed that there was a “hidden hero” in our interview video. He insisted to appear in almost every shot but didn’t even get a line. To show our respect to this unacknowledged member, we want to post a few screenshots from the video, so you all can officially meet him.

Dear Mr. Orange, thank you for staying with the Onipunks Team throughout the dreadful winter in Beijing. We love you!

You guys rock hard (^_^) Every member of the team should cameo in the game SOMEwhere!

I agree with Mike. You should make Mr. Orange a playable character!

If Mr. Orange is not a playable character, I will be sorely disappointed. ;P

It's a really unique idea that connects you to the backers in a way that I haven't seen any other video game do. I've seen webcomics/books do it, but never games. Kickstarter games have started to explode. Given how popular pixel-based games are, maybe some other teams will follow in your footsteps in that regard.

I'm just glad I'm going to get to see your creativity with the Warriors and Wanderer that are being done. I can't wait to see how you get them to work

Just out of curiosity, I actually added up how much it would cost to buy the remaining Civilian, Zombie, Soldier, Warrior, Wanderer, Hero, and Villain rewards. It's around $24K! But that doesn't seem like that much when I consider that you guys would need to make 41 more pixel models (with animations), 2 models with portraits and different attacks, and 2 models with full-body portraits (and expressions) and new poses. I shudder to think of the overtime you guys would need to put in to try to get all of those done without a major delay on the game's release.

Hahaha :) Keep going guys, you've been doing a great job!

@Matt Thanks Dude! We were nervous about 65535 thing too! Hopefully we can hear back from Sony like tomorrow so we can be more clear about $60 tier. It's ok if nobody is gonna choose Hero/Villain tier, the main idea is to interact with our supporters ;)

Oh, thank you! I was soooo nervous about reaching that 3DS stretch goal.

I really wish I had a lot more money. Then, I'd buy all the Civilian, Zombie, Soldier, Warrior, Wanderer, Hero, and Villain rewards left. I'd give the extra game keys to friends and family (and use their likenesses for the other pixelated people). I'm really curious how you would have done the extra Hero and/or Villain, but it looks like no one is going to bite for those two...

Hey Michael, we will post an update ASAP about $60 tier. Please wait for the official update.
@All After several reshoots of model-kits mountain scene, Mr. Orange was gravely injured... The Cup Mr.Orange is the evil twin.

How many game keys does the $60 come with? Android, 3DS, and Vita?

Mr Orange braved the dangers of the ONI studio, like the hungry gamecube, the model-kit mountain, the book cliff and worst of all... The cup of kings
