STRETCH GOAL: $4,000
Sad Clown Coloring Book
We've reached our goal with a day and a half left in the campaign. It ends on Wednesday July 9th at noon. There's still time to pledge, if you want to get in on the fun. If we hit $4,000, any backers who's pledged $5 or more will get a digital download of a Sad Clown coloring book (in addition to receiving a download of the score!) This additional money raised will help get Sad Clown through post production and allow us to send to some more festivals! All other backer rewards are still available. Thank you!!
This dark comedy explores the themes of love and loss, depression, and the struggle to "just be happy". It is about how strong emotions can be hidden or shared and what happens when those emotions can overtake the rest of someone's life.
The clown’s job was to make people laugh, but what happens when he loses everything that made him smile? While everyone around him hides their feelings, this clown wears his on his face for all the world to see. The smile once drawn on his face has been replaced by a frown and painted tears.
Help us show the world how awesome MN films can be!
A note from the director:
Jesse and I have been making up stories together since the first grade. In high school, film and theater became our refuge.
More recently, we've begun writing together and trying to find time to collaborate on projects again. It's been difficult to find time for creative projects, but we've managed to write several scripts and "Sad Clown" is the first of which we'd like to bring to the screen and share with you. It isn't just about clowns, but about the ways in which we deal with our emotions, when things seem overwhelming - which I'm sure, everyone can relate to.
I thank you in advance for your support, as we embark on this adventure. We have a group of incredibly talented actors and filmmakers, eager to work on this project. Films need an audience and we would love the chance to entertain you.
- Jason Schumacher (director of Sad Clown)
Where is the money going?
All of the money raised will go directly into the film. We are not paying ourselves. It is a labor of love. Your pledges will help us rent camera and lighting equipment, feed our incredible cast and crew, create and rent costumes, create and rent props, and get us through the post production process of editing, color grading, scoring, sound design, and sound mastering.
